Looking to make a website for your film or production company? There are a lot of web hosting companies out there and it can be a very daunting task to find affordable web hosting that is reliable, dependent, and offers you exactly what you need. I have gone through multiple web hosting companies throughout the years and the one I use now, I’d highly recommend.

Film & Video Budgets by Deke Simon (with Michael Wiese) is an excellent book for anyone who is looking to budget an independent film. I bought and read it last year (the 4th edition of the book), and it was not only informative and easy to use, but I was able to use its guidelines and templates to complete a feature film budget for a script that I have been raising funds for. Read on for more details about the book.

No actually, you might not want to know more. The new “Grease” is one of six films that Paramount Pictures is giving the “direct-to-video” treatment to through their newly set up Paramount Famous Prods. So, that means that we most likely will not see either Danny Zuko or Sandy Olsson, even thought I could totally picture them trying to make the new film about one of their kids (aiming things at the High School Musical crowd of course). Or not, since that would take the film 15 years in the future and out of the “Grease” time period. No matter what, the new film will be leaps and bounds better than the motorcycle racing “Grease 2” (although Michelle Pfeiffer could never do anything wrong in my eyes). Hey, if we’re lucky, maybe they will get Stockard Channing or Jeff Conaway to make an appearance.

The other 5 films going straight to DVD are three that I can careless about; “Mean Girls”, “Road Trip”, “Without a Paddle”, one that I’m iffy on; “Bad News Bears”, and one that deserves to get the theater treatment with a director and lead actor who have always expressed interest to make a 4th film in the series; “Naked Gun”.  I will be making a future post/rant about that last one.

The story of John Lennon’s childhood and rise to fame is coming to a theater near you. Sam Taylor-Wood will be helming “Nowhere Boy” for Ecosse Films, from a script written by Matt Greenhalgh, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

The biopic “details the story of Lennon as a lonely teenager growing up as his aunt and the mother who gave him up fight for his love. His only escape is music, art and his fateful friendship with Paul McCartney.” Filming will begin later this year in Liverpool, with a release date currently unknown.

The show, which is based on the popular young adult book series, “gives viewers a peek into the world of privileged teenagers in an elite private school in New York City.” The first season was only a mild hit for the CW network in rating, but proved to be an internet sensation among teenagers. The season premieres this Monday at 8pm on the CW.
