This past weekend in Malibu, the CW Network held a premiere party for their reinvention/continuation of ‘90210’. All of the new cast members and two key returning cast members from the original series were in attendance. Read on for more information and news on the new ‘90210’ in anticipation of the show’s premiere next Tuesday, September 2nd.

The new ‘90210’ returns to the original show’s roots with a new class of West Beverley High Students, and all of the dysfunction and drama that comes with the infamous zip code. Among the new class are Tristan Wilds (The Wire) as Dixon Wilson, Shenae Grimes (Degrassi: The Next Generation) as Annie Wilson, Jessica Stroup (Reaper) as Erin Silver, and AnnaLynne McCord (Nip/Tuck) as Naomi Clark.

Joining the new kids at West Beverley from the original series are Jennie Garth as Kelly Talyor, and Shannen Doherty as Brenda Walsh. EW held an excelent interview with the two where they opened up about returning to the show and spilled some secrets about the future of Brenda and Kelly.

Also returning for the new series is fan favorite Joe E. Tata, whose character Nat ran the old gang’s favorite hang out, the Peach Pit, and Ann Gillespie, aka Jackie Taylor.  The show is also taking steps to leave doors open for past characters to return to Beverley Hills in one form or another. So even though Luke Perry currently says that he has no plans to return, rumors are making the rounds that the show is building to his return anyway. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see if any of the rumors pan out.

The CW has released a video from the premiere party, and other behind the scenes videos and teasers. Personally, I am really glad to see this show returning and I’ll be tuning in on September 2nd. Will you?
