I normally would not go anywhere near helping to promote a sequel to a Uwe Boll movie (that he is also producing), but honestly, “Alone in the Dark 2” is so disconnected from Boll’s crapfest that I doubt he has any input at all. His producing credit was likely a contract thing due to him getting the rights and directing the first one.
The writing/directing team of Michael Roesch and Peter Scheerer are treating this film as a stand alone piece, and have not only recast the lead role, but they went to the next level by completely changing his ethnic background. If they were smarter, they would take the “2” out of the title and give the movie a snazzy subtitle and prey that not enough people saw Boll’s movie to even remember it.
Either way, they are doing something right. Two of my favorite b-actors are starring in the film, Danny “The Machete” Trejo and Lance “Bishop” Henriksen.
Bloody-Disgusting dot com got an exclusive image of Henriken from the film, which you can check out here, along with some additional info and a look at Trejo here. The film will be going direct to video in 2009.
