Guillermo del Toro is one of the busiest men in film. He recently spoke to the New Yorker about one of the many films that will keep him booked through 2017, a new version of Universal’s classic movie monster, “Frankenstein”.

“I’m not doing Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein. I’m doing an adventure story that involves the creature. I cannot say much, but it’s not the central creation story, I’m not worried about that. The fact is I’ve been dreaming of doing a Frankenstein movie since I was a child.”

Not wasting any time on the origin (that we all know so well) is a huge step in the right direction. I can not wait to see the Frankenstein monster in an all new adventure film, while being brought to life by a visionary director like del Toro. Would it be asking too much for a Frankenstein and Hellboy crossover film?
