I have a feeling that this film might be one of those situations where you either like the book and not the movie, or vice versa. Or maybe it’s more what you saw or read first. Either way, I really enjoyed the book, but don’t have high hopes for the film. While Kat Dennings is an inspired choice for Norah, I just don’t see Michael Cera as Nick. To be honest, he’s just not cool enough.

There are certain parts of the trailer that are lifted right from the book, such as when Nick’s friends take Caroline off Nick and Norah’s hands, but mostly it looks like a lot of changes. For one, it’s Norah that asks Nick to be her “boyfriend for 5 minutes” rather than the other way around as in the book, and it leads me to wonder why. Also, the subplot with losing Caroline seems completely unnecessary.

The book has such a rushed, immediate, living-one-moment-to-the-next tone to it that it seems impossible to translate to film. If anything, though, it looks like it’ll at least have an awesome soundtrack.

Spiderman Meets Stephen Colbert

While Stephen Colbert might be one of the funniest men on TV in our world, in the Marvel Comics Universe Colbert is running for president.  But before he can make it to the election, he’ll have to team up with the amazing Spider-Man… to save the world? Face off with Venom? The Green Goblin?

Okay, so we have no idea what Colbert and Spider-Man will be teaming up for, but we know when and where it will be, October 15th in “The Amazing Spider-Man #573″. The special 8 page story is by Mark Waid and Pat Olliffe.

What does this mean for Colbert’s bid for the Presidency in the Marvel Universe? We’ll have to read and find out!

Tonight on ABC is the return of the most stylistic new show of last season, “Pushing Daisies”. Daisies follows Ned (Lee Pace) a piemaker with an extraordinary ability to bring people back to life with a single touch, but tragically takes that life away with another touch. After Ned’s childhood sweet heart Chuck (Anna Friel) was murdered, he brought her back to life, but their love has a road block of no physical contact. The show co-stars the hysterical Chi McBride and the adorable Kristin Chenoweth.

On tonight’s all new episode (the first since December 2007); Ned, Chuck, and Emerson Cod (McBride) investigate a woman’s death by bee stings, which forces Chuck to go undercover as a “Bee Girl”. Check out these pictures from the season premiere of “Pushing Daisies”:

Bloody-Disgusting recently got the juice on some interesting trailer news; they received the exclusive trailer for “I Sell the Dead”, a period zombie film starring Dominic Monaghan (Lost, Lord of the Rings).

“I Sell The Dead” is the story of two grave robbers, Arthur Blake (Dominic Monaghan) and Willie Grimes (Larry Fessenden), whose epic story of robbing graves is told by Arthur to a priest (Ron Perlman) as Arthur prepares to face execution.

The film is directed by Glenn McQuaid based on his short film called the “The Resurrection Apprentice” and was funded by Glass Eye Pix (a low budget horror genre label run by horror maestro Larry Fessenden). The film co-stars Larry Fessenden, Ron Perlman, & Angus Scrimm.

What makes this trailer so unique is its style. From the opening clips we are thrown into another world. The costumes look stellar, the cast looks amazing, and the sets are unbelievable, especially since this film had a budget of less then five million dollars. There’s also an arthouse quality about this film that sets it apart from so many indie zombie films being released today. We’re given shots of people doing abnormal things and its general style. All I can say is that I’m looking forward to it whether it’s released straight-to-DVD or theatrically… once it’s out I’ll be the first one there.

No release date has been set. Continue reading to check out the film’s trailer…
