Variety is reporting that NBC has pulled the plug on their Christian Slater spy drama, My Own Worst Enemy. Airing after Heroes on Monday nights, the series has been doing very poorly in the ratings. With other channels picking up shows with ratings that would normally be canceled, I’m a bit surprised by this axing. I’d think that with more time the fan base could have expanded, especially with Slater in the lead. Oh well.
FOX’s long running comedy show MadTV was also canceled this week, and rumored to be very close are NBC’s Lipstick Jungle, ABC’s Pushing Daisies, and FOX’s Prison Break.
I read the MOWE news earlier and had a fit. The show’s mucho interesting. NBC, you’re a bunch of fools. You could at least move it to another night first. Sigh. This always happens to me.
I would never watch LJ. I’ve seen one ep of PD and thought it was okay, but not okay enough for me to schedule a viewing. And I’ve only seen one ep of PB after the first season. That first season was pretty good, but my interest faded when they started to advertise the next one. Oh well.
And I thought MadTV was already in reruns… not new eps. Shows you how much I pay attention to that show. At least it launched some careers. Hey… Where in the world is Orlando Jones? Haha.
Stupid NBC.
Brooke Shields has denied that her drama series Lipstick Jungle has been cancelled.
While there is a chance it could get more episodes, it is highly unlikely. Same goes with Pushing Daisies. The networks don’t want to use the word “canceled”, but have not ordered additional episodes, so the shows are stuck in limbo.
Anna Friel show Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money are set for the chopping block. Bryan Fuller, executive producer of Pushing Daisies, confirmed the news about the show to E!’s Kristin Dos Santos.
