I only just heard of Batman Arkham Asylum this past week, but I’ve been getting more and more excited for it. This game has everything going for it for fans of Batman. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill from Batman: The Animated Series reprise their voices for Batman and the Joker, while the game was written the BTAS’s mastermind and fan favorite, Paul Dini. As Batman you get to freely roam the halls of Arkham Asylum fighting your way through his rouge gallery as all of the prisoners of the Asylum have been freed from their cells.
Confirmed villains include the Joker, Harley Quinn, The Riddler, Killer Croc, and Bane, with The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, The Scarecrow, Two-Face, and Poison Ivy also rumored. The game forces you to use detective skills along with combat, ensuring that it isn’t just another fight and destroy everything in site game. And best of all, this game isn’t a movie adaptation game; it just pulls from Batman’s 70 years of history to form a game that is very true to character.
Batman Arkham Asylum comes out on May 1st, 2009.
