Did anyone else think that Friday nights episode of Dollhouse should have been the series premiere of the show?
All of the episodes before it just weren’t that good. It wasn’t a show that I had to see. It was just a show that I’d catch whenever on the internet, only watching because it starred Eliza Dushku. “Man on the Street”, was more the vision Whedon had for the show, while the other episodes were what Fox wanted. Fox should have just let Joss Whedon do what he wanted, because it’s much better. If you stopped watching the show after the first few episodes, start watching again with “Man on the Street” and forget the other episodes.
Whedon knows what he’s doing. Look how many stars on TV came from the Buffy Universe; Faith (Eliza Dushku) is on Dollhouse, Willow (Alyson Hannigan) is on How I met Your Mother, Angel (David Boreanez) is on Bones, Caleb (Nathan Fillion) is on Castle, Oz (Seth Green) created and voices Robot Chicken, he also is on Family Guy, Fred (Amy Acker) is on Dollhouse, Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg) did a bunch of episodes on Gossip Girl, Spike (James Marsters) did a bunch of Smallville episodes, Cordelia (Charisma Carpentar) did some Greek episodes, Kendra (Bianca Lawson) has been on the last few episodes of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Principle Wood (DB Woodside) went from principle to president on 24, even Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is returning to TV with a new show.
Speaking of Bones and Family Guy, I read of a crazy crossover on the shows over on ew’s website. Booth (Boreanez) has a medical scare and hallucinates that he’s in Quahog (where Family Guy takes place) and meets baby Stewie. That sounds great, but you know what would have been better? If Booth hallucinated himself saving Buffy from vampires and Buffy confused Booth for Angel.

I loved “Man on the Street” and fully agree that it should have been the first episode of the series.
yeah, the episode was great!!
You’re crediting Whedon for the careers of all those people? Nah. They were working before. They would have worked without Buffy. They’d be working now. In fact, I’d say they would be working more if it wasn’t for their time in BtVS.
This has been your anti-Whedon comment of the day. Thank you.
The only ones that had major roles before being on Whedon shows were Seth Green and Michelle Trachtenberg. Everyone else were like side characters or I never seen them before Whedon. The only things I remember them being on Pre-Whedon are Eliza Dushku on True Lies, Alyson Hannigan was on My Stepmoms an alien with Seth Green, Bianca Lawson was on one of the new classes of Saved by the Bell and Nathan Fillion was a side character on Two Guys a Girl and a Pizza place.
It doesn’t matter how much you dislike Whedon, you can’t deny that he launched a ton of careers (and excelled others) with Buffy, Angel, and Firefly.
Back onto Dollhouse. The last few episodes have been excellent. The twists have been surprising and Whedon and the gang are keeping this viewer on his toes. You can view the last episode here.
I’m denying it. (bows)
