chuckmemondays

Every week since we all helped Save Chuck, fansites @SaveChuck and Chuck TV have organized ChuckMeMondays, where fans around the world watch Chuck in the correct ordering of episodes at the same time while Twittering/bloging about it.

Currently, CMMs is up to episode 6, “Chuck Versus the Sandworm”, which will be watched tonight at 9pm et (8pm ct, 7pm mt, and 6pm pt) over at TheWB. I’ve been watching weekly, and it is only getting me more pumped for the new season.  TheWB has posted that CMMs have increased online viewership and over in Twitter, they’ve gotten #ChuckMeMondays and #Chuck into the ever important trending topics weekly during airings.

If you can’t watch the episode at the exact time, no worries, just give it a look whenever you can, every viewing helps.  For more information about ChuckMeMondays, click here.

Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. bid of 33 million dollars for Midway Games has been approved and has gone through, which gives most of the gaming company’s assets to the mega studio. Included in the mix is Mortal Kombat, Spy Hunter, Wheelman, Joust, and a ton of other classic games.

Midway created (or distributed) such titles as NBA Jam, Defenders, Primal Rage, Killer Instinct, War Gods, Rampage, and Area 51 (among countless others).  It is unknown which of Midway’s classic titles Warner Bros. has the rights of, but there is speculation that they will be moving ahead with re-imaginings of some of the more classic titles, along with a second Mortal Kombat vs DC Comics crossover game. Personally, I’d love to see new versions of Rampage and Area 51.

It is also a bit unclear what this means for Midway properties that have films and TV shows in development. Will MK’s second sequel Mortal Kombat: Devastation finally get made? Or will it be scrapped and rebooted by the WB? Hopefully the latter as the MK films were painful for this fan to watch.  How about the proposed Spy Hunter film starring The Rock? Hopefully Warner Bros. will issue a statement soon with plans for the properties.

It is exciting to see where a company with Warner’s power will take classic Midway titles.

I love commercial spoofs, and Snuggie Spin-Offs is a very creative spoof of a completely unnecessary product.

Don’t forget, we’re always looking for new funny videos to feature! Share yours with us through our Contact page.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer 26 Oz is back!

The moment most Buffy fans have waited for since the middle of season 4 is here, Daniel “Oz” Osbourne is back! (as seen in the awesome cover on the left)  As I did with the television series, I have blocked myself away from spoilers and the only thing that I know is that the gang goes to Oz for help.  While I have enjoyed the Buffy comic series, it has been a little disjointed and hit or miss. The pacing and flow of the “season’s” story has been off.  With Buffy writer Jane Espenson penning the next few issues I have a lot of hope for this arc.  In fact, I’m keeping this preview short so I can run to the store right now to pick up the issue…

What else is worth your time?

  • Marvel: Cable #16 - Continuing directly from the “Messiah War” crossover with X-Force, Cable is in a bad place and might not be long for this world.
  • DC: Nothing is worth your time this week.
  • Image: Chew #2 – A twisted concept that is both engaging and… well, pretty twisted.
  • IDW: Angel #23 – This book still stinks, but maybe it will get a little better with the return of “After the Fall” writer Brian Lynch. I want to root for this book so badly, except every week that gets harder (and it is not worth the high $3.99 cover price!).
  • Boom! Studios: Irredeemable #4 – My comic book guy recommended this to me. Mark Waid at the top of his game? I’m in.
