Have you checked out The Guild yet? The webseries comes from Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum and Dr. Horrible costar Felicia Day and focuses on the world of online gaming. The independent web series is a sitcom that follows the online (and offline) adventures of the members of “The Knights of Good”. The “Knights” are a guild in an undisclosed World of Warcraft style MMORPG video game.

The series began in mid-2007 and has completed three seasons, and has just premiered its forth season. After being produced on 0 budget, the popularity of the first season got the series picked up by Xbox Live along with a sponsorship from Sprint. The episodes themselves are between 3 and 8 minutes.

To see where you can view the series online, check out the show’s 141tv profile. In addition to Felicia Day, the series stars Jeff Lewis, Sandeep Parikh, Robin Thorsen, Amy Okuda, and Vincent Caso. Wil Wheaton, of Star Trek: The Next Generation fame, guest starred in the three season of the series and returns in the forth season. The show has also had two music videos, which you can watch here.

Earlier today, I had the pleasure of checking out the faceVision on line store, where they offer the FV touchcam N1, which gives you true HD streaming video through a webcam. Check it out in this pretty picture…

Past situations where you have been stuck making low resolution online webchats are done. Now your business and personal web video conferences and chat will be crystal clear in stunning HD video. Other features include a 78 degree super wide angle lens that has an ultra fast auto-focus. This can allow multiple people to chat in front of the camera and keep them all in focus. The cam also very easy to set up with plu-and-play installation through a USB 2 plug.

If you are interested in purchasing the Touchcam N1 or the FV ExpressCombo, than you are in the right place at the right time. They are currently having a “back to school” promotion with a 10 dollar off discount. All that you have to do is use the promo code “FVTBTS2″ when you checkout. This discount will only last until the end of the month (9/30/10).

HEROES
Will there be a Heroes Miniseries? Heroes creator Tim Kring spoke with TV Guide to address the rumors. Tim Kring answers the questions: Will Heroes continue as a miniseries? If Heroes were a miniseries, where would it begin? …and… Is Nathan really dead or is there a chance he could be brought back to life? Watch the interview here.

I would love for the show to continue as a miniseries, television movie or web series, either way would be great. There are endless amounts of stories that could be told in the Heroes universe. What I would do is every month have a short web series, say 5-10 five minute episodes focusing on single characters. Then at the end of the year have a miniseries that connects all those web episodes.

LOPEZ TONIGHT
Monday night on Lopez Tonight, George Lopez went through his twitter comments. He went on to make jokes on the nerds who go to Comic Con, Snookie being arrested, Justin Beiber, and ended with Vanilla Ice singing his “classic” hit Ice Ice Baby. Vanilla Ice is at about the 4:30 mark in the video, located here. Lopez Tonight airs nightly at 11pm/10c on TBS.

Thanks for the post from Hal Potter.

If somebody asked me what my favorite chick flick was, I wouldn’t even have to think about it. By far, Grease is the best chick flick you could watch. I mean, what else could you want? There is a lot of musical numbers, something I’ve always enjoyed. The clothes are simply divine; at least, if you can appreciate clothes from the 1950s. And the plot is cute, especially if you’re a fan of love stories.

I think this movie could be enjoyed by people of all ages. Kids can watch because they may not understand some of the more adult jokes. The adults, depending on their age, can reminisce about times gone by. I actually got my grandma to see it once, and she ended up talking to me about raising my mom back then, and what it was like.

The music is very catchy; even if a person has never seen the movie, chances are they know about the songs. I mean, they’ve played on the radio numerous times. Not all of them are the best, but many of them are. You just want to stand up and dance, whether you’re in the office or on the road.

Definitely, if a person is looking for a good time, they should check out Grease. Sometimes, if I’m lucky, I may catch it on Satellite tv; and when I do, you couldn’t pry me away.

I don’t always dig the Funny or Die comedy videos, but every now and than they hit the nail on the head. In this new video, Eva Mendes is selling a new product, her S.EX. Tape…

Mendes co-stars with Funny or Die co-creator Will Ferrell this weekend in The Other Guys, with Mark Wahlberg, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, and Damon Wayans Jr. It opens against Step Up 3D, Middle Men, Twelve and the Rob Reiner coming of age drama Flipped.

So, you have an awesome script, talked to a few actors who are interested in bringing it to life, and you are ready to make your feature film directing debut? You’ll need money… a lot of money.

One thing that is important right off the bat, is to check your personal finances. Will you be able to support yourself for weeks or months while you’ll be making no money? Will you have to borrow money, live off your partner, or get take out personal loans just to survive? Not many people know this, but raising funds and trying to get the budget for a feature film can be a full time job. You’ll have to go on meeting after meeting, put together a mega information packet on the project, a full proposal, a budget, and a timeline of how investors can expect to make back their money. This is no easy task. Which is why my first question is; are you able to work a full time job without getting paid?

Okay, so you cut down your monthly expenses and you’ll be working part time to make ends meet, or you’ve saved for 6 months out of the year and you’ve saved enough for the next six months, giving you plenty of time to look for big bunks to make your film. Good, that was the first thing to think about. Next, you’ll start thinking about how much you need. What is your film’s actual estimated budget?
