This post is brought to you by The Flex Belt.
What is the flex belt? It is an ab toning system that uses electric muscle stimulation to stimulate the nerves that make your muscles contract and relax. To use the flex belt you just need to slip on the comfortable toning ad belt, turn it on, and let it do the work. It is great if you have a busy schedule and can’t seem to find the time to work out, but you still want to gain 6 pack abs. How does the flex belt compare to the slendertone? According to the website, the flex belt is a “more powerful and sophisticated version of the Slendertone System Abs Belt”. Click on the link for a full comparison of the two products.
I think the problem with writing and making a comic book film is the material itself. The thing is if you take the original comics with all that camp-ness and so on, nobody is going to want to watch it. We’ll end up with a endless supply of Batman and Robins. In theory, Superman Returns should have been an awesome film. With it being a pseudo sequel to the Richard Donner films and that series, but it just never came together right. It was so freaking boring. I’d rather have seen Tim Burton’s Superman Lives with the all weird stuff he was adding because at least it would have been something new to watch and from recently released test pictures it would have been very different which sometimes isn’t a bad thing.
Batman Begins was a great Batman film. It was good to finally see his full origin on the big screen. To be honest, I don’t like Christian Bale as Batman. I don’t even think much of him as an actor. I would have preferred Angel‘s David Boreanaz in the role. Everything was good about the film. In contract, I thought that The Dark Knight was just plain awful. The only parts that worked for me were the action scenes. I honestly believe, and I mean no disrespect, that this film wouldn’t have garnered the attention, money and great reviews had it not been the fact that Heath Ledger tragically passed away. His Joker didn’t work for me.
Trying to make DC Comics on film for Hollywood has never been a easy task. Hopefully that will change starting with Green Lantern and once they get Nolan and Bale finished with Batman and move on with a new actor and director. So we’ll finally get to see a long awaited Justice League of America film. Zack Snyder on Superman is a genius move and I long to see this film get made, so here’s hoping that us DC fans will finally get the movies we so longingly have wanted.
This post is brought to you by ShopWiki UK.
Tis the season to buy awesome gifts for those you love. Okay, so it is not the season yet, but we are getting closer. We will be gearing up our annual My Hollywood Dream Geektastic Wishlist soon, but until than we’re going to continue taking looks at good places to look online to shop. Today we were provided with a link for ShopWiki UK, an online shopping zone that takes a look at hundreds of different items and is a full directory that compares prices of online stores. Most online shopping directories only list products from stores that pay them, so there are a lot less options, but ShopWiki lists products from more than 30000 stores, which means better deals and savings. Lets take a look at a few different pages in the directory.
The first page I looked at was for Women’s Fashion Trends. The contents of this page include sections for “Seasonal Trends”, “Classic Trends”, “Related Guides”, “External Links”, and “Related Searches”. In “Seasonal Trends”, there are guides for Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Each of these guides go into detail on a ton of different styles. “Classic Trends” provides information on different trends through the decades. One of the most interesting things about this section is that there are no products or price listings. This is an information zone that tries to help visitors gather info on possible future buys. The next page I took a look at was one called Petite Clothing for Women. In it is four sections, including “Tips on Getting the Right Fit”, “Putting the Outfit Together”, “Related Products and Accessories”, and “External Links”. The finale section of the site I took a look at was for Party Outfits for Women. This page included information on attire for formal occasions, semi-formal occasions, and casual parties, along with related guides, external links, and related searches.
Our friends over at 141tv have been keeping busy and keeping an eye on new fall shows as they are added online. Here are a few more that you can watch full episodes for…
Raising Hope
A new Fox comedy from Greg Garcia, one of the co-creators of the very funny My Name is Earl, and stars Lucas Neff, Garret Dillahunt, Martha Plimpton, Shannon Woodward, and Cloris Leachman. In the series, Neff is Jimmy Chance, a young man whose life is going nowhere until a chance romantic encounter with a girl he doesn’t know is a serial killer. Nine months later he has a kid and she is gone, and it is up to Jimmy and his unique family to raise this baby, Hope. Like My Name is Earl this series features a very dysfunctional family, people who are very lovable characters. Check out the new episodes here.
No Ordinary Family
I gotta say, I’ve been really enjoying the family superhero dramedy No Ordinary Family. The series is from Greg Berlanti and Jon Harmon Feldman and airs on ABC. It stars two actors that aren’t strangers to the superhero world, Punisher War Zone‘s Julie Benz and Thing from the Fantastic Four series, Michael Chiklis. Rounding out the family is Jimmy Bennett and Kay Panabaker, with supporting actors that include Autumn Reeser, Romany Malco, and Stephen Collins. The show has a good balance of action and family drama and it is not taking itself too seriously, which helps. So far it has been fun and entertaining. Check out the first five episodes here.
Detroit 1-8-7
This new ABC crime drama is from Jason Richman and stars The Sopranos‘ Michael Imperioli, along with James McDaniel, Aisha Hinds, D.J. Cotrona, and Erin Cummings. The series takes a gritty approach to crime and uses mostly handheld camera. Content wise it reminds my of NYPD Blue. Regardless of low ratings, it already has been extended to a full season order of episodes and I’m interested to see where they take this series. If you are a big fan of crime shows, you should give Detroit 1-8-7 a chance, you might like it. Check out the last five episodes from the show’s 141tv profile.
