You must have heard by now that after Ridley Scott is done with his Alien “prequel”, that he will be returning to the world of replicants and the dystopian future society in Blade Runner. Now, as much as I would love to see Ridley Scott direct a follow up to Blade Runner, I can’t help but worry that it will take something away from the original. The mystery that we were left with at the end of the movie. Sure, he could be crafting a new story set in the world, heck it might even take place before or around the time of the original movie (again like his new Alien universe movie Prometheus). But will he be able to capture the magic of the original? Harrison Ford’s Deckard? Rutger Hauer’s Roy Batty? Will modern CGI make the world seem a little too clean?

Recently we were treated to new images and a plot synopsis for the new entry into the Underworld series, and now we have a full trailer! After a one film break Kate Beckinsale returns as Selene, and much has changed over the years. Vampires have been revealed to the world, hunted down and imprisoned. Only few remain in hiding. Will Selene be able to rally them and save her people? As an audience member are we supposed to be rooting for the vampires to defeat the humans? Because that seems kinda off. The lovely Beckinsale is joined in this installment by Michael Ealy, India Eisley, Stephen Rea, and Theo James. It comes out January 20th, 2012. Click here to check out the film’s trailer.

This post brought to you by Net10. All opinions are 100% mine.

Because of My Hollywood Dream, I get to check out a lot of different types of products and services that I normally would not even think twice about. Today I was introduced to Net10, a cell phone service that just might steal you away from Verizon and AT&T with their unlimited plan. First check out this commercial for their product: “Cute NET10 commercial“.

Net10 offers multiple plans, including an Easy Minutes Plan that lets you pay as you go and starts with a price as low as fifteen bucks for two hundred minutes, but the best deal in my mind (and I mean best deal of any provider) is their fifty buck unlimited plan.  Yeah, a set price of fifty bucks for unlimited minutes, unlimited text messaging, and unlimited web surfing. Verizon and AT&T are both much more expensive and neither provider even offers an unlimited web plan anymore. A cool feature of Net10 is the ability to switch between their plans to best suit your particular needs in a given month. Don’t think you need the unlimited plan next month? Just switch it to the two hundred minute plan and save a few dollars.

How about Net10′s actual phones? What are they like? Well, they have a little something for everyone. They have simple phones that can text and make calls for under fifteen bucks. They also have phones with “essential features” (camera, video recorder, blue tooth, web) for under forty bucks, and get this, touch screen and full QWERTY keyboard phones with app capabilities for under sixty bucks. When was the last time you were able to buy a phone for under a hundred dollars?

Need some more reasons to make the switch to Net10? How about these 10 Good Reasons? You can also check out this testimonial from one of the actual Net 10 customers: “Real NET10 customer

Ever since they announced the new Superman reboot to be directed by Zack Synder and produced by Christopher Nolan, one of the biggest questions has been the suit. Would they redesign it (as it has in the comics)? Make it darker? Or keep the traditional red and blue tights? Well, we finally have our first look of the Man of Steel… (click to enlarge)

The suit is a bit darker than both Reeves and Cain’s Superman versions and is more textured (the suit here does not look like normal cloth, and has shades of Spiderman’s movie costumes). Henry Cavill sure looks the part and definitely has the presence required to portray the first superhero. I love the atmosphere around him and the giant (almost cartoony) safe door that Superman has just broken through. I can’t wait to see more from the film. Now that we have had a look at Superman, I hope we can see Amy Adam’s Lois, Michael Shannon’s Zod, and the Man of Steel supporting cast. We have a long time until June 13, 2013…
