Next Wednesday, August 31st Buffy the Vampire Slayer “season 9″ begins with Angel & Faith #1 from Dark Horse Comics. The once rouge slayer will be teaming up with the vampire with a soul for a new 25 issue series that will see them move to England and continue their own personal fights for redemption. On to the official description for issues number one:
Left in a near-catatonic state following the events in Buffy Season 8, Angel will need a seriously rude awakening if he’s to make amends for his ill-conceived deeds. Enter rebel Slayer with a cause–Faith Lehane. Together they’ll have full access to the Watcher files and opportunities to make amends for all they’ve done . . . and will do.
The issue is written by Christos Gage with interior art by Rebekah Isaacs, and overseen by Buffy creator Joss Whedon. I can’t wait for the new issue and to see how it will tie in with the new season of Buffy comics.

Also from Dark Horse Comics next week is The Goon #35. The official description of the issue:
Goon and Franky stumble upon a bizarre freak show at Brigadoon’s Dreamland Carnival, where the evil barker pits the Goon against a horrendous, bacon-eating behemoth, the Ten-in-One!
The Goon creator/artist Eric Powell is joined by writer Evan Dorkin. While I’m not familar with Dorkin’s work, I absolutely love Powell’s Goon artwork. You can pick up both issues next Wednesday.

So excited for the new “season” worth of comics for Buffy/Angel! Here is hoping that they form one larger overreaching story!
