Fox is giving us another two hours of MasterChef, with a repeat on at 8pm and a new episode at 9pm tonight. This competition series keeps getting more intense with each episode as the top 5 compete for four spots. Who would have thought that a blind woman would get so far in a cooking show? Let alone be one of the contenders to win it. Though, from the previews, it seems that Christine, said blind girl, could very well be in the hot seat.
I’ll be honest, MasterChef proves why cooking shows are at the top of the reality food chain. Nothing brings out jealousy more then knowing that there’s a ton of a amateur cooks out who are cooking better then me. If only I could make things this way, I wouldn’t have to rely on K-D and prepackaged salads as my main source of cooking prowess. I just hope the surprise that has been teased in this forthcoming episode is not as permanent as some of the past twists on this show.
Official Description, “Top 5 Compete”: A game-changing twist surprises the five remaining hopefuls during a mystery-box challenge. Later, the wannabe chefs are tasked with re-creating one of Graham Elliot’s signature dishes that he served to President Obama at his flagship restaurant.

I can’t agree more about Fox. Their most promising new series was Terra Nova this past season and they cancelled it way too soon. They are pushing more and more reality/compeitions and taking less chances on decent dramas.
I like Master Chef. The show has definitely put a different spin on individual cooking competitions. The three judges on the show have been impeccable in their decisions on each individual chef. I made sure that my Hopper’s PrimeTime Anytime is on so I can record all of the episodes and watch them when I’m ready. A Dish co-worker told me I should try it because the timers are super easy to set up. So whether I watch the show tonight or three days from now, I know it will be available to me. I’m sure Master Chef will be back next year since most people seem to have seen one episode or another. Besides, Gordon Ramsay seems to be irresistible to viewers.
Master Chef is going to be coming back next summer, in fact they’re accepting auditions right now. But, The Pit, I have to say, I cannot disagree with you more. I hated, hated, hated Terra Nova. I thought it was just a bunch of wasted potential and just a slow show with uninteresting characters with a decent twist. Want that same sort of twist in a better show? Go and watch Primeval starring Jason Flemying. They’re also taking a chance with The Following.
Though, Fox’s only draw for me, right now, is its Tuesday comedy block as I’m a fan of New Girl and I’m looking forward to Ben & Kate and The Mindy Project; also, during the midseason, I’m psyched for The Following but other then that most other networks have better shows.
I enjoyed Terra Nova, just felt like they wasted too much time with filler one off episodes and neglected the dino aspect too much. It should have been more about the wonder and mystery of it all. And it had soooo much potential moving forward, but now we’ll never know what it could have been (unless Netflix or a like company revives it in 10 years).
Never watched Primeval, maybe I’ll give it a chance. Is that a SyFy series?
New Girl go better and better as the season moved along. I just hope that they can keep it up without falling back into the trap of the first few episodes, where they thought adding more and more and more quirky features to Zooey would make her cute and likeable, but instead make her too annoying to handle. I love where the show went though.
Primeval, I believed, aired on SyFy a few years ago. Though I think it moved to BBC America. Primeval actually has proven so successful that they’re doing a Canadian spin off from it that I think premieres this January (2013). Definitely give it a chance if you’re into the dino aspect of it all.
And I agree with New Girl, but I think the writer’s realize how funny Max Greenfield (Schmidt) and Jake Johnson (Nick) are that they won’t fall into that trap. I actually tune in more for the supporting cast then Deschanel, actually.
If it has dinos, I’m in!
