I feel like the big reason why the show is logging low ratings is not because of the quality of the show — this is seriously becoming one of TV’s most underrated family comedies — but comes from the show’s name. A show titled Ben & Kate makes one think this is a gooshy semi-romantic series ala Melissa & Joey or even Will & Grace. I think this show would be logging more viewers if it had stuck with its original title “Ben Fox is My Manny” as it invokes a more goofy feeling show, which show is. It is an ensemble series stuck with a title that makes you think it is a more low key series. Honestly, though, from the episode description I’m expecting another solid airing. Just after two airings, I can say that I’m hooked. It is funny and not just “cute” like its competition in The New Normal. Try this show out for size, you might find that it fits your bill.

Official Episode Description, “The Fox Hunt”: Ben and Kate discover a list from an unfinished scavenger hunt that their dad created 15 years earlier, and they set out on a mission to find the remaining items. Meanwhile, BJ asks Kate for help retrieving her things from a former beau’s home.
