  • Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God – written by Alex Gibney
  • The Invisible War – written by Kirby Dick
  • Searching for Sugar Man – written by Malik Bendejelloul
  • We Are Legion: The Story of the Hacktivists – written by Brian Knappenberger
  • West of Memphis – written by Amy Berg and Billy McMillin

Adapted Screenplay

  • Argo – adapted by Chris Terrio
  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower – adapted by Stephen Chbosky
  • Life of Pi – adapted by David Magee
  • Lincoln – adapted by Tony Kushner
  • Silver Linings Playbook – adapted by David O Russell

The winners will be announced on February 17. The DGA will announce their film nominees on January 10th, television and commercial nominees on January 11th, and documentary nominees on January 14th.
