Charmed

Charmed ended in 2006 after eight successful seasons on the WB. The series focused on three sisters; originally Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, and Shannen Doherty as Piper, Phoebe, and Prue Halliwell, but Doherty left the show after season 3 and was replaced by Rose McGowan as Paige. It is over a decade since the show ended and the CW (which replaced the WB) is eyeing a reboot prequel series.

TV Line reports that the new series will take place in 1976 and focus on three witches fighting evil in a small New England town. While none of the original actors are attached to the new series (yet?) there are possibilities that they can connect the shows via time travel (which occurred on the original series), or by having the characters appear as kids (maybe a demon is hunting future witches). In the very least the new show has to include a cameo by Holly Marie Combs, who was the only star of the show to appear in every episode. The show is being brought back to life by Jennie Snyder Urman, an executive producer of the CW’s Jane the Virgin.

If you are bummed that none of the original characters are slated to return, back in 2010 there was a comic series that continued the story of the Halliwell sisters and took place after the TV series finale. Zenescope Entertainment created two “seasons” of the comic, which spanned 44 issues. The series ended last September, with no news if the comic will continue with a season 11.
