Online gaming can be a great way to relax and interact with other players. Playing online has much more of a social element and knowing that you’re playing against real people can increase the excitement and competitiveness of the game. You can even play on your phone or tablet when you’re on the go or feeling bored.  I have been computing and luckily have access to wifi on my whole commute. This lets me sit back and enjoy some online gaming before the very busy workday begins.

One type of online game which has been growing in popularity at the moment is bingo. Yeah, it is a world away from the action or strategy games you might be used to but there’s the added bonus that you can actually win real prizes. Bingo has been around in many different forms for a very long time, but the growing appeal of online bingo can be attributed to the fact that it’s so easy to play. There’s no complicated strategy and you don’t have to think too much- you can just relax and enjoy the game. How many other games can say that?

Of course, the buzz that many people get from playing online games such as bingo is the thrill of a potential win. My sister plays bingo here but there are many sites to choose from. While perhaps not every guest star who appeared on “30 Rock” made comedy gold, I find myself having to dig deep through all the treats to find a dud. Some guest stars made a one-off appearance on the NBC sitcom, and some did multiple episode arcs while others would appear at least once or twice a season.

It seemed like the writers found the perfect characters and wrote to each guest star’s particular strengths. They (mostly) managed to fit seamlessly into Liz Lemon’s personal universe populated by her rag-tag group of co-workers…whom she often had to treat as children.

So, while you may never see another new episode of “30 Rock” you can always look back and remember the good times. Or watch reruns. Heck, according to direct.tv you could even stream them from your DVR to your smartphone or tablet if you’re a DirecTV subscriber. Or log on to NBC.com or even Hulu.com.

Jon Hamm as Dr. Drew Baird

Who wouldn’t want to try to join Jon Hamm in the Bubble? Between Hamm’s stints on “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock,” he proved his versatility as an actor. Add “comedic” as a prefix to “actor,” forevermore. Don Draper, took temporary steps to the side, because Dr. Drew Baird brought the laughs. Thankfully, just because Liz Lemon couldn’t handle the pediatrician’s overwhelming handsomeness–and its subtly manipulative effects on everyone around him–didn’t mean we wouldn’t be treated to repeat appearances from Hamm; handless as he eventually became.

Will Arnett as Devon Banks

Arnett served as the perfect nemesis for Jack Donaghy. Arnett’s portrayal of Jack Donaghy’s formidable foe, whose equally deep voice really should have resulted in a low talker contest between the two moguls, was always fun with his plays for power, as well as his weakness for the ever-naive Kenneth Parcell. With plenty of smarmy charm, it was always a whiplash-inducing tennis match watching him and Donaghy make their respective plays for dominance.

Elaine Strich as Colleen Donaghy

Elaine Strich was perfectly cast as Jack Donaghy’s tough mom who carried general disdain for Jackie boy’s love interests, but she did have as soft a spot in her hard-coated heart as possible for Liz Lemon. Her relative affection didn’t prevent her from giving Liz as tough a time as she gave her son. From Jack backing up and hitting her, seeing only her tights-clad legs fly in the air, to her fantastic funeral, Strich was a classy and indispensable, albeit entirely shrewish, addition to the list of recurring guest stars.

Alan Alda as Milton Greene

Cast as Jack Donaghy’s deeply ironic biological father, Alan Alda is always a good idea. More a self-parody role for Alda since Milton Greene is a fairly accurate portrayal of the “MASH” actor himself. The added bonus of Alan Alda’s appearance was the cavalcade of guest stars his character’s need for a kidney inspired. “Kidney Now” brought together an impressive list that included Sheryl Crowe, the Beastie Boys (Ad Rock and Mike D), Mary J. Blige, Steve Earle, Wyclef Jean and so many other musical artists and actors.

The Honorable Mentions

Maybe this is a cheat, but here are a few more guest stars who deserve a mention. Chris Parnell‘s Dr. Leo Spacemen was always a creepy treat.

Brian Williams, the (real life) NBC Evening News anchor, was another surprise with his dry humor and good sportsmanship.

In Part 1 of “The Most Famous Robots That Never Lived” we talked about three of the most influential robots in pop culture history; the T-800 from The Terminator, Rosie from The Jetsons, and the robot from Lost in Space. Today we take a look at four more such robots.

C-3PO and R2D2 from Star Wars
This robotic odd couple brought some comic relief to the epic sci-fi franchise, and in the process became two of the most famous robots in entertainment history. C-3PO is the uptight straight man, while R2 is the zany little guy who only speaks in beeps and whirrs. The two did their part to bring down the Empire, with more than a few great one-liners and classic moments in the process.

KITT from Knight Rider
It is because of this robot that a generation of young boys grew up desperately wanting a talking Pontiac Firebird. The Knight Industries Two Thousand, better known as KITT, was chock full of gadgets to help Michael Knight stop crime in its tracks — and swoop the ladies off their feet.

HAL9000 from 2001, A Space Odyssey
HAL is one of the best movie villains ever, even though he is just an ever-present, all-knowing red eye. He is one of the first film examples of technology gone wrong, of a machine that takes matters — and lives — into its own hands. Though soft spoken and kindly (and a good chess player), HAL has other plans in store for the crew of astronauts venturing to Jupiter.

“Oh great, another boring horror remake!” That’s probably what went through most horror movie buffs’ heads when they heard that Sony Pictures Entertainment was remaking the 1981 classic horror film The Evil Dead. “They are going to destroy the character of Ash from the original Evil Dead, just like they did to the iconic Robert Englund version of Freddy Kruger in the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street, aren’t they?!” Well, not quite. As a matter of fact, the character of Ash isn’t featured in this remake at all. This is one of few films where diehard fans of the original (and even some critics, scoring a 62% on Rotton Tomatoes, which is high for a horror film) have actually praised the remake.

The film, directed by Fede Alvarez, centers around four friends who gather in a cabin out in the woods to help another friend kick a bad drug habit. Upon arriving to the cabin, the young adults start exploring the place when they come across a book that appears to be made of flesh and written in blood. Of course, one of the nosey teens just HAS to pick up the book (which clearly says in it DO NOT READ) and reads a passage out loud, thus putting a curse on one of them. Once this happens, eerie stuff starts to happen to one of the girls, and any time blood spread from one person to another, they get infected, just like a virus. It eventually infects most of the crew and the only way to save them is an ancient burial of sorts and other rituals.

This movie is pretty brutal. There’s definitely plenty of blood and missing limbs in this remake. Now, this film was not only backed by original director Sam Raimi, but he himself actually helped produce it, along with Bruce Campbell, who played the main character “Ash”, in the original Evil Dead trilogy back in the 80s and early 1990s. The film used practical effects for most of its gore, and there’s a lot of it! As a matter of fact, it didn’t pass its’ first few rating screenings due to the amount of gore it contained and several scenes had to be edited or re shot to cut down on the goriness. Was this movie perfect though? No, it’s a horror movie. Of course you’re going to have your clichés (teen/young adults in a random cabin in the middle of nowhere, getting into stuff they shouldn’t be doing), your terrible acting, and your unrealistic plot. But, once again, it’s a horror movie, it’s not meant to be perfect.

Overall, I’d say this was a pretty well made and fun film. If you’re a horror film fan, you should definitely check it out. Also, if you’re a fan of the original “Evil Dead” franchise, make sure to stick around after the credits for a little surprise. It is not much, but it is still something that will make your inner fanboy feel “Groovey” on the inside.
