There were a lot of great TV Moments last week, these are my favorites. On How I Met Your Mother, Ted runs into Stella. Is she the “Mother”? Maybe, but I don’t think so. On The Big Bang Theory, Penny called out Leonard’s name while making out with Stuart. Over on Castle, Castle was asked why he doesn’t watch detective shows on TV rather than following Becket around. He said something like all they do is play with their sunglasses. Which is making fun of time slot rival CSI Miami‘s character Horatio Cane. Dollhouse had a bunch of great lines like when Alpha holds a gun towards Caroline/Echo’s harddrive with her original imprint and he says ‘I’ll blow your brains out’. The best line was when Topher and Ballard are talking about the doll’s souls and Topher says something along the lines of ‘we keep them in a jar with our fireflies’.

On SNL, Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg reprise their dick-in-a-box roles with Motherlover.

On Bones, Booth talked to Baby Stewie at the sperm bank.

And finally, on David Letterman, Leonard Nimoy presented the “Top Ten Lines Never Before Said in a ‘Star Trek‘ Film.”

What will be this weeks favorite moments? Will it be Prison Break’s two hour finale? Who will Michael choose, Sara or Lincoln? Or Leonard Nimoy as William Bell on Fringe or No Doubt on Gossip Girl or maybe Motley Crue and Zack on Bones or the Apocalypse on Supernatural or Doomsday battling Clark on Smallville?

What were your favorite TV moments last week?

Angel‘s green skinned, karaoke singing demon Lorne (Andy Hallet) died of heart failure on March 31st.  He was only 33 years old and had been battling heart disease for five years. The My Hollywood Dream staff will miss him.

While on the subject of death, a lot of characters are turning up dead on TV… (Continue reading for the full article — Contains Spoilers)

Did anyone else think that Friday nights episode of Dollhouse should have been the series premiere of the show?

All of the episodes before it just weren’t that good. It wasn’t a show that I had to see. It was just a show that I’d catch whenever on the internet, only watching because it starred Eliza Dushku. “Man on the Street”, was more the vision Whedon had for the show, while the other episodes were what Fox wanted. Fox should have just let Joss Whedon do what he wanted, because it’s much better. If you stopped watching the show after the first few episodes, start watching again with “Man on the Street” and forget the other episodes.

Whedon knows what he’s doing. Look how many stars on TV came from the Buffy Universe; Faith (Eliza Dushku) is on Dollhouse, Willow (Alyson Hannigan) is on How I met Your Mother, Angel (David Boreanez) is on Bones, Caleb (Nathan Fillion) is on Castle, Oz (Seth Green) created and voices Robot Chicken, he also is on Family Guy, Fred (Amy Acker) is on Dollhouse, Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg) did a bunch of episodes on Gossip Girl, Spike (James Marsters) did a bunch of Smallville episodes, Cordelia (Charisma Carpentar) did some Greek episodes, Kendra (Bianca Lawson) has been on the last few episodes of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Principle Wood (DB Woodside) went from principle to president on 24, even Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is returning to TV with a new show.

Speaking of Bones and Family Guy, I read of a crazy crossover on the shows over on ew’s website. Booth (Boreanez) has a medical scare and hallucinates that he’s in Quahog (where Family Guy takes place) and meets baby Stewie. That sounds great, but you know what would have been better? If Booth hallucinated himself saving Buffy from vampires and Buffy confused Booth for Angel.

Monday night, another great show came to an end. Kyle XY aired its series finale after it was canceled a few weeks ago.  It seems every year a favorite show of mine comes to an end; Veronica Mars, The Dead Zone, Jericho, Prison Break

I finally got around to watching the finale of Kyle XY today on abcfamily.com.  I watch a lot of TV, pretty much everything except reality shows and medical shows, so I end up watching a lot of shows on the networks websites.  ABC Family has got the worst video player on the web, but more about that later.  Kyle XY came to an end and it left too many questions unanswered and opened up new questions.  I hate when shows get canceled and don’t get to resolve what’s going on.  Yeah, we find out Kyle turned out the way he did because he had the Tragers there to love him. But what about everything else? Luckily writer/co-producer Julie Plec answered some of the questions of what was to come if the show continued a few more seasons.  It would of been cool to actually see some of these things happen.

Back to ABC Family’s website. The video player just sucks.  The quality of the video is bad, it’s not wide screen, it’s not even really full screen (it’s in a box), you have to click continue after the commercials, the commercials sometimes stutter making them un-watchable, sometimes the video won’t even go to commercial it says I need to change some settings to watch videos on the site, and other times it doesn’t continue after a commercial.  The best sites to watch TV shows are CBS, Hulu, and The WB.  CBS has clear full wide screen picture, but some of their best shows aren’t offered on the site (like Ghost Whisperer, The Big Bang Theory, The Mentalist, and Two and a Half Men).  Hulu also is a great place to watch shows from NBC, FOX and a bunch of other networks.  Hulu has a clear picture, full wide screen image, Hi Def, but they seem to be adding more and more commercial breaks.  The WB has a great picture also with a short commercial at the beginning of the shows.  I have only watched the short original series on The WB site, so I don’t know about the quality of the longer old shows that they have up.

Welcome to my all-new column, where I look at the cool little aspects of the latest TV episodes and news.

Did you catch the inside joke on Monday nights episode of Castle?

Nathan FillionOkay, so Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) is talking to his daughter and mother about Nannies.  Castle mentions that his nanny would sit and watch daytime soap operas.  He then revealed that he got the idea for his first book from watching an episode of One Life to Live.  In the mid 90s, Nathan Fillion portrayed Joey Buchanan One Life to Live.  This would be about the same time that Castle got his idea for his books.  Most of these little inside jokes the casual watcher won’t even realize, but they are funny when you do know them.

Speaking of Nannies and inside jokes on shows, there is also inside advertising.  On tonight’s episode of One Tree Hill, Nanny Deb is asking Jaime what he wants to watch and he replies Gossip Girl, cause it makes him feel bad.  Gossip Girl airs right before One Tree Hill on the CW.

And while we are on the subject of Gossip Girl, did you hear who will be portraying a teenage Lily van der Woodsen on the Gossip Girl prequel?  None other than Brittany Snow. Does anyone else think it’s weird that she was once in love with her daughter Serena’s ex boyfriend Dan Humphrey (they got down in John Tucker Must Die)?

Synfig, 2d Animation Program

Synfig is a free open source tool for producing feature-film quality animation with fewer people and resources.  I have been wanting to learn how to do 2D animation, but I didn’t want to spend the money to buy the software.  I am definitely going to give this software a try.
