Okay, I know what you are thinking… Beverly Hills Nannies? Seriously? That is one of the best things to watch tonight? Seriously? Beverly Hills Nannies? Yes, the show is one of those awful reality shows that showcases awful people- this time the wannabe famous (and sometimes has been) rich Beverly Hills couples with kids and the fame seeking wannabe famous nannies that are over paid and complain too much. It is horrible, yet something about it is also horribly addictive. Or maybe after having a kid I suddenly have a soft spot about shows that deal with taking care of kids (even if it is at 40 dollars an hour).

Beverly Hills Nannies “Nannies Need Love Too”

Hatfields & McCoys: Part 1
I think this mini series from the History Channel took everyone by surprise and became a huge (record breaking) ratings hit for Cable network. If you missed it, now you can check it out online. The official description: The Hatfield-McCoy saga begins with Devil Anse Hatfield (Kevin Costner) and Randall McCoy (Bill Paxton). Close friends and comrades until near the end of the Civil War, they return to their neighboring homes—Hatfield in West Virginia, McCoy just across the Tug River border in Kentucky—to increasing tensions, misunderstandings and resentments that soon explode into all-out warfare between their families. As hostilities grow, friends, neighbors and outside forces join the fight, bringing the two states to the brink of another civil war. Watch Hatfields & McCoys: Part I online now!

Teen Wolf, “Omega” & “Shape Shifted”
The MTV werewolf series returned this past week with its second season and two new episodes.  The first episode, “Omega”: Scott and Stiles go on the hunt for Lydia while Jackson deals with the aftereffects of his bite; meanwhile, a new hunter arrives in Beacon Hills with a vendetta. Watch Teen Wolf season 2, episode 1 online! The second episode, “Shape Shifted”: Jackson anxiously awaits the next full moon, and Scott and Stiles try to rescue newly bitten Isaac from the Argents. Watch Teen Wolf season 2, episode 2 online!

Melissa & Joey, “I Can Manage”
Teen Wolf wasn’t the only show to just start up its second season, ABC Family’s comedy returned last Wednesday with a new episode. Official description: With everyone living in tight quarters, Mel and Joe are at odds with a contractor for their home renovation; Lennox writes and performs in a controversial school play. Watch Melissa & Joey season 2, episode 1 online!

ABC Family’s series Greek is heading into its final season. The college based drama/comedy stars Scott Michael Foster as “Cappie,” Dilshad Vadsaria as “Rebecca,” Jacob Zachar as “Rusty,” Clark Duke as “Dale,” Spencer Grammer as “Casey,” Paul James as “Calvin,” Jake McDorman as “Evan,” and Amber Stevens as “Ashleigh.” The final season begins on Monday, January 3.

Here is the official description for the final season: “As Greek heads into its fourth season, the storylines turn to the post-graduation experience for Casey, Ashleigh and Evan, while the undergrads must continue to deal with life on campus. The new season promises surprise pairings with new rivals, unexpected allies, as well as unpredictable romances. Viewers will see the characters taken in new directions, including some unanticipated turns, and die-hard fans of the college series will be treated to throw-back references from past seasons. Throughout the season, fans will also see the return of featured guest stars including Charisma Carpenter, Sam Page, Martha MacIsaac, Nora Kirkpatrick and Tiffany Dupont, who returns as Frannie.”

The summer television season is in full swing and with that comes a crop of new shows! Here are three new shows that you can check out online (via 141tv’s Free Video Guide).

From USA Network comes Covert Affairs, starring Coyote Ugly‘s Piper Perabo as CIA trainee Annie Walker who is called up to be a full agent more than a month before her training is finished. Does Walker have special skills that the CIA needs? Or is there something (or someone) in her past who they are after?

The series co-stars Christopher Gorham, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Kari Matchett, and Anne Dudek.

You can check out the pilot episode here.

The SyFy channel’s newest series is based on Stephen King’s novella The Colorado Kid, and stars Emily Rose as Audrey Parker, an FBI agent with a lost past who arrives in Haven, Maine on a case involving people with supernatural abilities.  As the breakout of people with uncanny abilities spreads, Parker must keep it in check while also finding links to her own mysterious past…

The series co-stars Lucas Bryant and Eric Balfour.

You can watch the first episode, Welcome to Haven, by clicking here.

From ABC Family comes this new series which is a “funny, heartbreaking and provocative” look at the lives of teenagers and the staff at a weight-loss camp.  Nikki Blonsky, from Hairspray, stars as Willamina, a young woman whose sardonic and rebellious nature causes problems for some, but helps other teenagers at the camp express and feel good about themselves.

You can watch one episode of the series here.

Yesterday I mixed things up with what to watch tonight, but today I’m going to do a regular TV Tonight post.  The World Cup is still on, and tonight ABC has Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night followed by game six of the NBA Finals, with the Celtics verse the Lakers. So, asides from sports, what do we have that’s interesting?

Pretty Little LiarsHow about the second episode of ABC Family’s new series, Pretty Little Liars. If you missed the pilot, you can check it out Online.

The series is based on a book series by Sara Shepard, and focuses on four estranged friends who are reunited after they begin getting mysterious messages from a missing friend who is watching them and knows their deepest (and dark?) secrets.

Lucy Hale from the enjoyable (and too quickly canceled Privileged) stars along with Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, and Shay Mitchell.

What will YOU be watching tonight?

the pit 2 logo

We shut down the offices for a two week fall break and television news explodes! Not only do we have to catch up on our overloaded Tivo, but we gotta swim through all of the news, rumors, casting, and drama.  So I present, a special TV-inspired Pit.

  • No new word on its start date, but Chuck fans can rejoice, we just got an additional 6 episodes for the new season bringing us at least 19 episodes for the third season of the spy/adventure/romance/comedy.
  • I don’t know about you, but I’ve been enjoying Melrose Place, matched with 90210, it fills my guilty pleasure quota (left by The OC).  So it saddens me that due to ratings (blah, the system blows) The CW is revamping the series, making it much lighter (good-bye murder mystery) and clearing out part of the cast (wait and see, I don’t want to spoil the mystery like other sites).
  • The new Turk (Donald Faison) and Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) led Scrubs will be premiering on December 1st at 9pm on ABC.   The series sifts its focus from Sacred Heart Hospital to a medical school where Turk and Dr. Cox are teaches, others including Zack Braff and Sarah Chalke will be making guest spots throughout the season.
  • Watch Dollhouse! Go, now, watch it! It is the most improved show of the season and at this rate it is likely to be canceled due to low ratings.
  • ABC Family has set the start dates for The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Make It or Break It, and Greek. They will air in that order starting at 8pm on January 25th.
  • While the news about Dollhouse is a little grim, there is some light at the end of the Joss Whedon tunnel, he will be helming an episode of my favorite new series, GLEE! I can’t think of a better director for them to use.

More TV news will be coming soon, along with the continuation of the TV Flipped column. Thanks for the continued support of the site.

10 things i hate about you

Tonight’s TV is pretty awful, so thankfully ABC Family has some quirky 90s style fun with their TV re-imagining of 10 Things I Hate About You.  The new episode airs at 8pm tonight and High School gets even more crowded and complicated as local residents pack the halls after a brush-fire causes an evacuation. In the midst of the chaos, Kat and Patrick spend some time together on the roof.  Sadly, I don’t think she’ll throw him off. The new episode is followed by a new episode of Ruby & the Rockits.

What else is on tonight?

8PM

  • ABC: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (Gameshow)
  • FOX: Hell’s Kitchen (Reality)

9PM

  • ABC: Shaq Vs. (Seriously, are they out of freaking ideas?)
  • CBS: Big Brother 11 (Reality)
  • FOX: More to Love (Dating Reality)
  • TNT: Hawthorne (Medical Drama)
  • SYFY: Warehouse 13 (Sci-Fi)

  • A&E: The Cleaner (Drama)
