Brooklyn 9 9

Sunday was a big night for the freshman sitcom when Andy Samberg walked away with the Best Comedy Actor award and the show walked away with Best Comedy Series at the Golden Globes. However, while there were some people who were shocked to see the show actually win anything, those who watch the show know that it’s well deserved. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, although not the best ratings performer, is definitely the best new comedy series on the air right now. With an ensemble that’s airtight and some of the best comedy writing anywhere right now, Brooklyn Nine-Nine deserves to be watched. Live. No DVR or pirating bullsh!t. It’s that good. So at 8:30 sit your butt in front of your TV and turn on FOX because Brooklyn Nine-Nine is the future of TV comedy and its future is bright.

Men Of A Certain Age

Tonight is the return of Ray Romano to television in TNT’s Men of a Certain Age.  The series co-stars Andre Braugher and sci-fi legend Scott Bakula.  The show focuses on three old college buddies who are now in their fifties. One of them is married, one is divorced, and the other is single, but they are all trying to figure out the same thing; what is next in life.  I was a fan of Romano’s Everyone Loves Raymond and I’m glad to see him returning to the small screen. And I absolutely love Scott Bakula, from Quantum Leap to Enterprise, and most recently as a recurring star on one of my favorite shows on television Chuck, the man can do no wrong.  While I am as far from these guy’s situation as can be, I’ll give the show a chance. Okay, Everyone Loves Raymond is not returning to television, but Ray Romano will be!

The comedian/actor will be starring in and producing Men of a Certain Age for the TNT Network. Romano will be producing along with Mike Royce, who executive produced Everyone Loves Raymond with him.

According to Variety, the series focuses on “three fortysomething college buddies who are each coming to terms with a midlife that doesn’t live up to their previous expectations.”

Co-starring in the series is Andre Braugher (Homicide: Life on the Street) and Scott Bakula (Quantum *freaking* Leap).

The dramedy is currently signed up for 10 episodes, but I’m sure we’ll be seeing more. The network is eying January 2010 for the show’s premiere.
