Free Online Comic Book

Have you been enjoying HBO and Alan Ball’s take on vampire lore in “True Blood”?  Than you might be interested in the 40 page prequel comic book that they have released online, “True Blood: The Great Revelation”.

The issue focuses on a centuries-old vampire who is reflecting about what it has been like to be a vampire and what the development of synthetic blood (aka Tru Blood) means to his kind. He journeys to Japan to see where the product is developed and to decide whether he wants to support vampires “coming out of the coffin” or not.

You can check out a few preview pages below and read the whole issue here. The comic features art by Jason Badower, and was written by David Wohl, from a story by Brian Cain and Gregg Hale.

And don’t forget, an all new episode of “True Blood” airs tonight at 9pm on HBO.

True Blood

“True Blood” is a vampire TV series that is coming to HBO by acclaimed writer/director Alan Ball, who created “Six Feet Under”.  He is moving from dealing with death to dealing with the undead.  The new series stars X-Men’s Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse, a small town waitress with the power to read minds, and Stephen Moyer as Bill Compton, a vampire trying to live a normal life. You can check out the new images from “True Blood” here. “True Blood” premieres later today, only on HBO.

My Name is Earl Guest Star Jenna Elfman

“My Name is Earl” is moving into its 4th season and Jason Lee’s Earl Hickey continues to right the wrongs of his past. This year, he’ll have to find a way to take guest star Jenna Elfman off his list. Most of the new pictures for the season focus on her (looking haggered and in a cheerleaders outfit – see above).  Also featured in the new pictures are Jaime Pressly and Ethan Suplee. You can check out the new images from “My Name is Earl” by clicking here. “My Name is Earl” will be back on the tube on September 25th.

Fangoria has announced that they will be holding a free screening of the long delayed horror anthology “Trick ‘R Treat” in New York City on October 13th. The screening will be the film’s East Coast premiere and will be introduced by the film’s director Michael Doughtery (co-writer of “X-Men 2” and “Superman Returns”), who will stick around afterwards for an audience Q&A.

The film stars Anna Paquin, Brian Cox, Dylan Baker, and Leslie Bibb. IMDB lists the plot of the film as follows; Four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband.”
