10 things i hate about you

Tonight is the first episode of ABC Family’s television adaptation of the hit 1999 teen comedy, 10 Things I Hate About You.   What sets this aside from other movie to TV adaptations is that the pilot was directed by the film’s director, Gil Junger, and the awesome Larry Miller reprises the role of Walter Stratford from the film.

The show feels like the 90s comedy and has a similar vibe to other 90s classics like Clueless.  The the series be able to screech the material from a stand alone film to enough episodes to fill seasons without getting dull and repetitive? I think that will be the main test here. The new teenagers also have some huge shoes to fill stepping into the roles portrayed by the talented Heath Ledger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Julia Stiles and the adorable Larisa Oleynik. Either way, it’ll be fun to see how Shakespare’s The Taming of the Shrew works (or doesn’t work) in the television format. The episode airs at 8pm on ABC Family.

I love commercial spoofs, and Snuggie Spin-Offs is a very creative spoof of a completely unnecessary product.

We’ve focused on the hysterical guys over at Sans Pants Productions before. This video, Let Me Get That for Ya, takes bathroom humor to a new level. It might not be safe for work (depending on where you work). Enjoy!

I just have a short post tonight with a funny video from the Onion News Network. Their spoof newscasts are always able to get a laugh out of me. This particular video looks at a “possible” solution to the United States’ current economy troubles.

Oh how I miss the days of sitcoms with theme songs and opening credits. From Full House, to Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, and Fresh Price of Belaire, the opening always got everyone in the mood for the 1/2 hour that would follow. While they may be lost, they are not forgotten. College Humor perfectly spoofs them in this video…

I’ve been a big fan of Sonny Boo Productions and Peter John Ross for a long time. He is an innovative independent filmmaker who crafts films across a wide variety of genres and subjects. The new short is a comedy about some relationship “credit” issues. Enjoy!
