Covers for Superior IronMan 1 and 2

Here we go, the egomaniac and villain-like Tony Stark is back in town and looking to reshape the Marvel Universe in his image. Unlike Spiderman, who was taken over by a villain in his own “Superior” relaunch, this is Tony Stark, not some substitute or replacement. By the second issue his actions have already set other heroes against him. How will this all pan out? Hopefully things go better for Daredevil than they went for Captain America when he clashed with Tony on his last villain like run (Civil War!).

Superior Iron Man #1
BE SUPERIOR! NEW CREATIVE TEAM TOM (INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US/EARTH 2) Taylor AND YILDIRAY (SUPERGIRL) ÇINAR START AN ALL-NEW SERIES SPINNING OUT OF AXIS! How much would you pay for perfection, beauty…immortality? TONY STARK is going to find out. The AXIS EFFECT has changed IRON MAN • Now HE’S going to change the WORLD…at a terrible cost.

Superior Iron Man #2
THE SUPERIORITY COMPLEX! TONY STARK has transformed SAN FRANCISCO…into the prototype for his NEW WORLD concept. But MATT MURDOCK isn’t down with Tony’s new vision. Can DAREDEVIL lead the rebellion against THE SUPERIOR IRON MAN?

Issue 1 comes out tomorrow, November 12th, 2014 and issue 2 hits in just 2 weeks on November 26, 2014. Will you be picking up this new chapter in Tony Stark’s life?

Action Comics Future End 1

You can’t tell from the above image, but this issue (along with so many others) has a 3D motion cover. The image changes from the left graphic to the right one, etc. It brings me right back to the gimmick covers of the 90s. Anyhow, just in time for September’s third anniversary of DC Comic’s “The New 52″ relaunch comes a universe wide tie in to DC’s event series “Futures End”. The series has spotlighted what “The New 52″ universe looks like 5 years into the future after a multiverse war has changed the status quo big time.

Action Comics: Futures End #1
Official Description: With the Man of Steel missing, ordinary people around the world start to mysteriously exhibit his strengths and abilities…

The issue comes from DC Comics on September 3rd, 2014 with the cover by Lee Weeks, art by Pascal Alixe, and writing by Sholly Fisch.

Have you been following the weekly “Futures End” series? Excited to see spotlight stories set in the bleak future across titles?

Buffy Season 10, Issue 4

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 10 #4
Official Description: Getting help from Dracula seemed like a good idea, until he stole the Vampyr book—and Xander! Now Buffy, Spike, Dawn, Willow, and Giles must save Xander and retrieve the book before it’s too late. Dracula has already begun to study how the lack of magical rules can work in his favor… The team from Angel & Faith takes over Buffy! Executive produced by Joss Whedon! Nicholas Brendon (Xander) joins Season 10!

I love it when Buffy-verse cast members join the writing team for issues. Who better to get into Xander’s head then the actor that brought him to life for so many years. The team of Christos Gage and Rebekah Isaacs continue to impress. After a stellar “season” of Angel & Faith, it is great to see them steering the main ship. Was surprised to see the team reintroduce Dracula, but I’m intrigued by the direction they are taking with the “big bad” caliber villain who has never reached that status in either the Buffy TV series or comics. It would be great to see him as a real threat.

The issue will be published by Dark Horse Comics on June 18th, 2014 from writers Christos Gage & Nicholas Brendon, along with artist Rebekah Isaacs, and of course executive producer Joss Whedon.

Following Buffy the Vampire Season 10? Enjoying the reintroduction of the classic vampire?

Cover-Angel3-2014

Angel & Faith #3
Official Description: Angel has found everyone is going to the same person in London’s Magic Town for advice-and it’s decidedly not him. But she is someone Angel can take partial credit for . . . And the pixie menaces have stepped up their muscle with another lady from Angel’s past. Meanwhile, Faith is screwing up. Again. Season 10 has just begun-don’t miss a second! Will Conrad (Serenity) returns to the Whedonverse! Executive produced by Joss Whedon!

Wednesday saw the release of Angel & Faith #3 in the Buffy-verse Season 10 from Dark Horse Comics, writer Victor Gischler, and artist Will Conrad. I really can’t believe how fast it feels like this season is going I’m two issues back on both Buffy and Angel and we’re only 3 issues in apiece. I should stop writing right now and get to the store (my box is likely overflowing).

Are you caught up on the new “seasons” of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel & Faith? How do they compare to seasons 8 & 9?

Secret Origins 2

Three years into the DC Comics reboot and “The New 52″, we are finally getting answers to some lingering questions via the rebooted Secret Origins ongoing. In issue 1 we were (re)shown the origins for Superman, Supergirl, and the first Robin, Dick Grayson. The new issue, which came out yesterday, gives us a deeper look at the genesis of the Dark Knight. What differs from what has been established in the past? How will it impact the future of Bruce Wayne and his violent alter ego?

Secret Origins #2
Official Description: Batman headlines the second big issue of SECRET ORIGINS, which also features The New 52 origins of Aquaman and Starfire!

The comic hit stands yesterday from DC Comics, writers  Scott Lobdell, Ray Fawkes, Jeff Parker, and artists Paulo Siqueira, Sean Parsons, Paul Pelletier. Also out this week; Batman #31, Aquaman #31, and Batman Eternal #8.

X-Men Cover

Just in time for X-Men: Days of Future Past to bring Sentinels to the movie audience, the Uncanny X-Men have recently been faced with them again with a mystery villain building them for SHIELD. Hopefully issue 21 sheds new light on the mutant hunting robots. It also looks like Cyclops and the gang will be paying a destructive visit to the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning.

Uncanny X-Men #21
Official Description: The Cyclops Revolution marches on! Who is the mysterious figure building Sentinels for SHIELD? Find out what happened to Dazzler since Mystique took her down back in UNCANNY X-MEN #9!

The Marvel Comic hit stands today, written by Brian Michael Benis with pencils by Chris Bachalo. This week is a very X-Filled week, also out today are Magneto #4, Wolverine and the X-Men #4, Amazing X-Men #7, X-Men #14, All-New X-Factor #8, and Savage Wolverine #19.

Have you been following the X-Universe? How many titles are you able to keep up with? Have you sided with Wolverine or Cyclops?
