Thursday is an all new episode of Heroes. That is something I never thought I’d say again. Check out this new teaser for Heroes: Reborn.

The continuation of the popular superhero drama is this Thursday, September 24 at 8pm on NBC. Jack Coleman returns as HRG to lead a new group of heroes and villains, included in the mix is Chuck‘s Zachary Levi.

Heroes, Season 3

It is true… Heroes has been canceled.

No, I’m not surprised either, but I am saddened that the show was never able to realize its full potential. That mis-leadership, along with poor writing and bad character choices made what should have been my favorite show on TV (and for a short time came close) completely unwatchable. Heroes was a live-action X-Men series.  There were endless stories they could tell and with a revolving cast the show could have gone on indefinitely.  Instead, they rehashed the same plot devices time and again, alienated the most interesting characters, and keep killing characters just to bring them back to live.  They should have learned from their mistakes and learned from the mistakes of comic books (I.E. the endless resurrections), which the show was inspired from. The show never did and I guess it is better off being canceled. I wouldn’t want to be disappointed in another season like the past three. Zackary Quinto spoke on his personal blog about the show’s end, and Greg Grunberg tweeted about it.

Thankfully, Chuck was renewed. I have a reason to continue watching TV next year.

Heroes, Season 3

Did you drop Heroes last season? Earlier this season? Well, the past few episodes have shown a lot of hope, with Bryan Fuller’s episode titled “Cold Snap” being the best episode since season 1. It just might be time to give the show another chance and thanks to Hulu, you can catch up on all of the season 3 episodes as we count down to the finale. Click here to be saved.

Heroes, Angela Petrelli

Tonight at 9pm on NBC is an all new Heroes. The show was injected with a renewed life and energy by the return of season 1 writer, Bryan Fuller. In the all new episode, Angela Petrelli must confront her past and try to bring her family back together to face the looming threat to their kind. I am really happy to say that I am excited about the new episode and the future for the show. I just hope that they don’t let Bryan Fuller go anywhere.

Heroes, All New Episode

We knew that we would be getting some big changes on Heroes when co-exec producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb were fired, but at the time we didn’t know that it would include the return of Bryan Fuller, season one’s best writer. You see, he left the show at the end of season one to create my favorite recently canceled series, Pushing Daisies. He was also the mastermind behind Wonderfalls, an equally awesome show that was canceled before it had a chance to prove itself. While Fuller has some input on the last new episode, I believe it was only felt in the closing moments, which changed the direction of the current chapter.  Tonight marks Fuller’s first scripted episode, and he promised a return to the excitement of the first season; returning characters, a back to basics with the wonder of normal people having extraordinary powers, and a face to come with the danger.

What better way to give a face to the danger than to reveal the mysterious Rebel? Well, that is what tonight promises. After outing Nathan as having powers, the “Hunter” targets Rebel and sets in motion a plan to find him (or her) and capture them. I’m still pulling for Rebel to be Micah, the young boy who can talk to (and command) machines. What better power is suited to find and contact other heroes, and then lead them to safety? the episode airs tonight at 9pm on NBC.

Heroes and Chuck in 3d on NBC

When I sat down to write this I was so torn between spotlighting Chuck in 3d and Heroes that I couldn’t choose just one. Chuck airs at 8pm on NBC and Heroes follows it. I hope you kept your 3D glasses from yesterday’s Superbowl, because Chuck is airing fully in 3D! And on Heroes, we get the first part of an all new volume, “Fugitives”.

On tonight’s all new episode of Chuck, “Chuck Versus the Third Dimension”; “In a 3-D edition, global rock star Tyler Martin (Dominic Monaghan) is marked for murder, so the agents kidnap the musician to discover who’s behind the deadly plot. Elsewhere, Morgan scores two backstage passes to Tyler’s show and holds a contest to determine who will join him….”

While on Heroes “A Clear and Present Danger”, “The newly powerless Hiro resolves to help Ando become a true superhero. Elsewhere, Suresh, Peter, Daphne and Matt return to their regular lives, but Claire’s quest for normalcy is cut short after she discovers a new plot by Nathan; and Sylar looks for his real parents.”

They saved the cheerleader, but they couldn’t save their jobs.  Variety reports that NBC fired Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb, the co-exec producers of their rating slumped superhero show, Heroes. The shake up comes after declining ratings, inflating budgets and the network’s desire to go into a new creative direction for the series.

The season started with a very strong two hour episode that imporved on a lot of the problems of season 2. Since than though, the plotlines have become confusing, none of the characters are acting like themselves, and ideas have been recycled from the first season (running out of ideas in season 3?).

With most of this season’s episodes already shot, I doubt that we’ll see this have an effect until next season. Hey, at least they didn’t cancel it, right?
