veronicamars

I am very proud to be one of the many (MANY!) fans that donated to the Kickstarter campaign… the record-breaking campaign that revived the Veronica Mars franchise and is responsible for bringing it to theaters this weekend (have you seen it yet, if not shut down the computer and go watch it!). My name is among the thousands of other contributor names on the Veronica Mars website.

Now I get to be proud again. Proud to host a contest for the flick! Check out this Veronica Mars app, take the Purity Test Marshmallow Super-Fan Trivia, and then read below how to enter the contest!

First, the movie’s official description: On the eve of graduating law school, Veronica Mars has put Neptune and her amateur sleuthing days behind her. While interviewing at high-end New York law firms, Veronica Mars gets a call from her ex-boyfriend Logan who has been accused of murder. Veronica heads back to Neptune just to help Logan find an attorney, but when things don’t seem right with how Logan’s case is perceived and handled, Veronica finds herself being pulled back into a life she thought she had left behind.

Clear your schedule on Sunday, May 26, because after a very very very long wait we’ll be getting new episodes of the cult comedy Arrested Development. You might want to also call in sick on Monday, as Netflix will be releasing all 15 episodes of the new season in one day. Yeah, I said 15. This is the second time that they have upped the episode count since they went into production. Hopefully this means good things- maybe we’ll get lucky enough to another season after this one? All of the regulars (pictured above) are returning along with most of the show’s famed guest stars (Liza Minnelli, Scot Baio, Henry Winkler) and a new crop of awesome guests including John Slattery, Seth Rogen, Isla Fisher, and Terry Crews to name a few.

While on the subject of television shows getting new life, how can I not mention Veronica Mars. With only six days to to go, the beloved show’s movie Kickstarter campaign has raised more than $4.6 million dollars and counting from over 70 thousand backers! The impressive campaign has broken records and I’m glad to admit that I “backed” the film also. It is not often that fans are able to directly impact the future of a canceled television show, and while I didn’t watch the show while it was on (always loved the idea but never had the time), I’m glad that I could help bring it back to life. The series was created by Rob Thomas and starred Kristen Bell, Percy Daggs III, Jason Dohring, Francis Capra, Enrico Colantoni, and Ryan Hansen.

“From executive producer J.J. Abrams (FRINGE, “Lost,” “Star Trek,” and the recent blockbuster “Super 8”) comes ALCATRAZ, a thrilling new series that follows a unique trio investigating the mystifying reappearance of 302 of Alcatraz’s most notorious prisoners and guards, 50 years after they vanished.”

“…a chilling new drama revolving around America’s most infamous prison”. Watch Now at 141tv

“Iraq war veteran WALTER SHERMAN (Geoff Stults) gained a reputation in his army days as being the go-to guy for tracking down insurgents and deserters and finding improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Unfortunately one IED found Walter before he could find it, resulting in severe brain damage with a lasting and unexpected effect. Walter transformed from someone skilled at the standard recovery of people and things to someone much more extraordinary: a Finder.” Watch Now at 141tv

“Based on the blockbuster feature film and best-selling novel by world-renowned author John Grisham (“The Pelican Brief,” “The Client”), “The Firm” continues the story of attorney Mitchell McDeere and his family 10 years after the events of the film and novel. As a young associate, McDeere brought down the prestigious Memphis law firm of Bendini, Lambert & Locke, which operated as a front for the Chicago mob — and his life was never the same. After a difficult decade, which included a stay in the Federal Witness Protection program, Mitch and his family now emerge from isolation to reclaim their lives and their future — only to find that past dangers are still lurking and new threats are everywhere.” Watch Now at 141tv

“Charming, fast talking Marty Kaan and his crack team of MBA-toting management consultants are playing America’s 1 percent for everything they’ve got. They put the con in consulting as they charm smug, unsuspecting corporate fat cats into closing huge deals, and spending a fortune for their services. Twisting the facts, spinning the numbers, and spouting just enough business school jargon to dazzle the clients, there’s no end to what this crew won’t do to and for each other, while laughing all the way to the bank. Starring Academy Award® Nominee Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell, nothing is sacred in HOUSE OF LIES, a hilarious, irreverent send-up of corporate America today.” Watch Now at 141tv

What do you think about when you see this pretty stylish poster…?

burlesque

To me it reads like a period musical, something along the lines of Chicago or All That Jazz, but it isn’t. The flick is a modern day musical that stars Christina Aguilera as Ali Rose, a small town girl that moves to Los Angeles where she finds herself working at a neo-burlesque club that is run by a former dancing legend portrayed by Cher. The film has a great cast with the likes of Stanley Tucci, Alan Cumming, Peter GAllagher, Cam Gigandet, and the lovable Kristen Bell. There is a pretty cool picture of Bell in the film over at MTV. The film hits theaters at the end of November.
