Four Christmases

I absolutely LOVE Holiday films and this is about the time of the year that studios unleash trailers for their November and December Christmas flicks. New Line Cinema has released the trailer for “Four Christmases”, which stars Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon as a “happily unmarried couple” who attempt to go on a private get-away for Christmas, only to be stopped in their tracks by bad weather and forced to spend the Holiday at four “relative-choked festivities”.

Greetings from the Shore, starring David Fumero

Greetings From The Shore is an independent film by Greg Chwerchak, that stars Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), David Fumero (One Life to Live), and introduces Kim Shaw. I had the pleasure of seeing the film a couple months ago, before it took home more than 40 awards at 70 film festivals. The film is a sweet and fresh coming of age story that is set at the Jersey Shore, which has never looked so good.

The film is screening in New York City tonight at the AMC Loews Village 7 (on 3rd Street), and like all independent films, it could use your help. If “Greetings” does well tonight, the film has a chance to open wider, and it really deserves it.

The film’s official description: “Still reeling from the death of her father, a young girl spends one last summer at the Jersey Shore before heading off to college. But when her plans fall apart, the girl stumbles into a mysterious world of Russian sailors, high-stakes gambling, and unexpected love.

Clive Owen is one of the few actors that I will go out of my way to see a film for. “The International” is a new thriller where Owen is an Interpol Agent who is “determined to bring to justice one of the world’s most powerful banks.”

The film follows him, along with Naomi Watts (as a Manhattan ADA) in a high-stakes chase through Berlin, Milan, New York, and Istanbul, where they attempt to expose the “financial institution’s role in an international arms dealing ring.”

Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling as David and DonnaThe countdown to the new 90210 ended and had great results for the CW. And now comes word from another original cast member about whether or not he’d be open to returning to the series that launched his career and the zipcode that was his home for 10 years. (A hint, he is on the image to the left).

The Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger

First was the report that Sarah Connor might be back in “Terminator: Salvation“, and now there is speculation that Arnold might be back also. It has been known for a while that Roland Kickinger (who portrayed a young Schwarzenegger in the 2005 TV movie “See Arnold Run”) was cast in McG’s Terminator sequel replacing Arnold as the T-800. But now, there is a report on Latino Review that Kickinger might only be the T-800’s body, with Arnold providing his likeness and voice for the role.

This, in my mind is the perfect solution for Schwarzenegger being too old to reprise the role (in addition to that whole running California thing), and keeping the films tied together while coming full circle. You can read the whole report here.

The cast of Bones hang out with extras from Army of Darkness.

Without the new season of TV in full swing, we have to cling to the new episodes that we do have, like tonight’s “Bones”, on FOX. Last week saw Emily Deschanel’s Dr. Temperance Brennan and David Boreanaz’s Special Agent Seeley Booth in the UK, and we find out that Dr. Ian Wexler (Andrew Buchan) met a grim fate.  You can watch the full 2 part episode here.

In tonight’s episode, “the body of the host of a popular reality TV show is found partially decomposed in an outhouse, and Booth and Brennan must find out who the killer is. Meanwhile, Booth learns that Brennan is juggling two relationships.”

Fringe, only on FoxTonight on Fox, from the mind of J.J. Abrams (“Alias”/”Lost”), Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (the writers team behind “Transformers”) comes a new series starring Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, John Noble, and Lance Reddick, that is a cross between “X-Files” and “Alias”.

The official show description: When an international flight lands at Boston’s Logan Airport with no signs of life, FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham (Torv) is called in to investigate as part of an inter-agency task force. After her partner, Special Agent John Scott (Mark Valley), is nearly killed during the investigation, a desperate Olivia searches frantically for someone to help, leading her to Dr. Walter Bishop (Noble), our generation’s Einstein. There’s only one catch: he’s been institutionalized for the last 17 years, and the only way to question him requires pulling his estranged son Peter (Jackson) in to help.

When Olivia’s investigation leads to multi-billion dollar corporation Massive Dynamic and its manipulative corporate executive, Nina Sharp (Blair Brown), our unlikely trio, along with Department of Homeland Security Agent Phillip Broyles (Reddick) and FBI Agents Charlie Francis (Kirk Acevedo) and Astrid Farnsworth (Jasika Nicole), will discover that what happened on Flight 627 is only a small piece of a larger, more shocking truth.
