A poster for Cartoon Network’s upcoming Green Lantern series has been revealed. While I like the teaser image, I’d still prefer if if the series was in the 2d style of Superman: The Animated Series and Batman. This just looks really blocky and unnatural. TV doesn’t have the time or budget to look as good as Pixar movies do.

A new poster featuring Daniel Radcliffe as the boy wizard Harry Potter has been released. “Nowhere is Safe” indeed. Since the third Harry Potter film, Warner Brothers have really been hitting their marks with this franchise. I love the posters and the visual style of the series. These posters are no exception.

What do you think about when you see this pretty stylish poster…?

burlesque

To me it reads like a period musical, something along the lines of Chicago or All That Jazz, but it isn’t. The flick is a modern day musical that stars Christina Aguilera as Ali Rose, a small town girl that moves to Los Angeles where she finds herself working at a neo-burlesque club that is run by a former dancing legend portrayed by Cher. The film has a great cast with the likes of Stanley Tucci, Alan Cumming, Peter GAllagher, Cam Gigandet, and the lovable Kristen Bell. There is a pretty cool picture of Bell in the film over at MTV. The film hits theaters at the end of November.

Marvel Studios has released a poster for their new upcoming animated series, The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.  Featured in the poster are four of Marvel’s “big guns”, Hulk, Ironman, Thor, and Captain America. I really like the look and animation style of the new series. Reminds me of the classic Ironman and Fantastic Four series from the 90s.

Avengers Cartoon

Missing from the poster are Ant Man and The Wasp, both who have been confirmed to be in the series.  This Saturday at Comic Con, Marvel and Disney will be premiering the first two episodes, then the series is expected to start in the fall.  The art is pretty cool and the team lineup is perfect. I really hope that the series is good and that the upcoming film will be even better!

While on the subject of the film version, at Comic Con we finally got confirmation from Joss Whedon himself, that he will indeed be directing The Avengers for Marvel Comics.  With Ed Norton out as Bruce Banner, I am hoping that Marvel reveals who will be the new Hulk at Comic Con. Rumors are pointing towards Mark Ruffalo, who I think is an excellent actor and has the look for Banner.  Robert Downey Jr, Samuel L Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Evans are all confirmed to be reprising their roles as Ironman, Nick Fury, Thor, and Captain America respectably.  We haven’t had any word on who might be portraying Ant-Man or Wasp, who usually get the short end of the stick (see above poster, also).  I could picture someone like Nathan Fillion as Ant-Man, but I have no ideas for Wasp.

Who do you think could fill the roles?

A poster for the new animated flick, Megamind, starring the voices of Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Tina Fey, and Will Ferrell. From Madagascar director Tom McGrath, the movie is a satirical take on superheroes with Pitt as Metro Man, a goodiegoodie superhero and Farrell as the villain and title character, Megamind.

Megamind

The Dreamworks Animated movie comes out in November. If you are going to the San Diego Comic Con International, the movie will be having a panel on Thursday July 22nd at 10am. On hand from the film will be Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, and Jonah Hill and Tom McGrath. They will be having a question and answer session along with showcasing all new footage from the film.

The film sounds like it can be a lot of fun. Originally, Robert Downey Jr was slated to appear as the Megamind (originally named “Master Mind”), but had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts. I would have preferred him to Will Ferrell who doesn’t show nearly as much range as Downey. Brad Pitt is a nice addition as the steriotypical superhero. Jonah Hill is always a great addition also.

Are you looking forward to Megamind? Will it be a new Incredibles or will it be as awful as Monsters vs Aliens?

I love b-horror movies and this poster for the remake of Piranha (which of course was made in 3d) is fun, over the top, and screams cheesey horror.

piranha

The movie was directed by Alexandre Aja, who helmed the creepy remake of Wes Craven’s The Hills Have Eyes. The cast includes a strange mix of actors, including Elisabeth Shue, Dina Meyer, Jerry O’Connell, Ving Rhames, and Jessica Szohr, along with acing greats Richard Dreyfuss and Christopher Lloyd. The movie hits theaters on August 20th.

Blah…

A-Team, Movie Poster

Why are all of the A-Team posters so boring? The television show was awesome, the cast of this revamp is great, the trailers have showed some potential. Yet all of the posters for the flick are really bland. What a missed opportunity. At least the film’s Los Angeles premiere was badass (how many times have you seen a Tank drive down Hollywood Blvd?).
