Many moons ago our resident gamer Dubray Kinney took a look at The Walking Dead: A New Day from Telltale Games. He said that the point-and-click adventure’s plot was “comparable to the better parts of the comics” and for $5 dollars the game was worth taking a look at. Flash forward two months and Telltale is readying the release of the the forth adventure in their Walking Dead series, which marks the penultimate part of this saga.

The original story that began in “Episode 1″ is coming to a head, and you’ll have to put everything on the line to protect Clementine. As with the first three, the forth episode features some awesome atmosphere and feels like the AMC television adaptation of The Walking Dead, but sadly it does not feel like the comic series. Creators had to pick and choose which version of the material to follow, because you really can’t follow both at the same time. It should be interesting to see if the game crosses over into territory from the show and side characters.

The Walking Dead: Around Every Corner will be released later this month, just in time for Halloween! It was written by Gary Whitta, who wrote the Denzel Washington action movie The Book of Eli and the video game Prey. Have you been following the game? Will you be picking up the new installment?

Well, here it is, the official trailer for DC Comics and the WB’s upcoming Green Lantern adaptation.  I actually haven’t watched it yet, I’m not sure if I’m waiting because how worried I am that it will suck or… no, that is exactly why I’m waiting. Anyhow, click here to give it a view.

The Pit v3 Logo

Another week and more entertainment news. Welcome to a new edition of The Pit. This week is going to be a little shorter than usual.

  • NBC is making Thursday funnier by adding an additional hour to their established comedy block. Their new lineup will be: (8) Community, (8:30) Perfect Couples, (9) The Office, (9:30) Parks and Recreation, (10) 30 Rock, and (10:30) Outsourced. As usual I’ll be Tivo-ing The Office, 30 Rock and Community and will not be tuning into the other shows.
  • Conan O’Brien’s new show continues to be funny. Are you watching it?
  • Comic Preview: X-Factor #211. This week Peter David has the X-Factor gang in a battle royal in the streets of Las Vegas as their plan to get the attention of a “death goddess” actually works and they must face off with her undead warriors to free one of her slaves. “What happens in Vegas stays- Ah, gets you killed?”
  • The spy action/comedy/drama Chuck is still easily my favorite show on television and should be yours! If you’ve missed a recent episode, head over here and give the show a chance! It really is a creative high for TV.
  • The Virtual Fall Movie season is in full swing over at Hollywood the Game with a new Batman movie coming out this Friday. Don’t have a clue what I’m talking about? Then check out the site!

It is a new week, and there is a lot going on.

  • Warner Brothers Animation has announced a new Green Lantern series that will be fully computer-generated. It is set to follow Hal Jordan, Kilowog, and an unspecific Red Lantern.  This is the first fully computer generated series with DC Comics superheroes.  There is rumored to be a Batman CG series that will follow this one also.  I’m not sure how I feel about this. I love classic animation and DC/WB put on some great superhero shows. I guess I’ll give the new style shows a chance, but if it isn’t broken, I don’t see why they are trying to “fix” it.
  • I have to do a shout out for myself, please head over to YouTube and watch The Paw! It is a little modern noir. You can also watch it on our side bar, thanks!
  • Scott Pilgrim vs the World has a new i-trailer! This movie looks awesome, and I can’t wait to see it.
  • The Twilight Saga took home 12 award wins at the Teen Choice Awards, proving once again that teens are stupid.
  • This is shaping up to be a really awesome weekend at the movies. In addition to the above mentioned Scott Pilgrim, we also have Stallone’s action flick The ExpendablesExpendables features the biggest cast of ass kickers ever assembled. I can’t wait to sit down and finish off two large popcorn buckets while it’s on.
  • Enjoying any summer TV shows? Movies? Video games? Comics? Books? Music? Let us know in the comments!

Welcome to another edition of The Pit. Lots of stuff is happening in the world of entertainment, here is a sampling.

  • The good news? Damages (one of the best shows on TV) has been renewed for two more seasons! The bad news? It will only be shown on Direct TV. I’ll have to wait for DVD to see the new seasons. But on the plus side, I usually let Damages episodes build on Tivo and watch them back to back anyway.
  • EW has a first look at the Lost DVD short that focuses on Hurley and Ben’s time running the island after the finale. Check it out here. I can’t wait for the DVD box set and this short film. So excited for even just a little bit more of Lost!
  • OMFG! Lindsay Lohan begins her jail time today… Really, who the F cares? *rolls eyes*
  • In another eye rolling story, the talentless cast of Jersey Shore is threatening to strike days before they are supposed to begin shooting their third season. It looks like MTV is going to give them huge raises to stay on the show, instead of doing the smart thing and replacing them all. I can’t wait until the world gets past the “being an a-hole” makes you a celebrity phase.
  • Have you checked out A&E network’s The Glades? The new series follows Matt Passmore as Jim Longworth, a homicide detective from Chicago who relocates to the sleepy middle of nowhere town of Palm Glade, Florida. While it appears like a easy/low key job, murders begin popping which forces detective Longworth to prove his worth. If you missed it’s premiere, it has been added to 141tv’s Free Video Guide.
  • There is a new trailer for Resident Evil: Afterlife. This one gives us a better idea of the story and a ton of different versions of Milla. This movie is going to be so epic-ly bad that it will be awesome! Check out the film’s poster and first trailer here.

Toy Story 3

Pixar’s Toy Story 3 is finally out in theaters! If that alone isn’t cool enough, HeyUGuys has posted a ton of photos and videos of concept art for the film. You can check out all of the art here.

I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am for the animated flick. I’ll be seeing it tomorrow afternoon and I’ll be posting my thoughts later in the night. Are you excited for Toy Story 3? Are you seeing it in 3d? Have you already seen it? Post your thoughts below!
