I am very proud to be one of the many (MANY!) fans that donated to the Kickstarter campaign… the record-breaking campaign that revived the Veronica Mars franchise and is responsible for bringing it to theaters this weekend (have you seen it yet, if not shut down the computer and go watch it!). My name is among the thousands of other contributor names on the Veronica Mars website.

Now I get to be proud again. Proud to host a contest for the flick! Check out this Veronica Mars app, take the Purity Test Marshmallow Super-Fan Trivia, and then read below how to enter the contest!

First, the movie’s official description: On the eve of graduating law school, Veronica Mars has put Neptune and her amateur sleuthing days behind her. While interviewing at high-end New York law firms, Veronica Mars gets a call from her ex-boyfriend Logan who has been accused of murder. Veronica heads back to Neptune just to help Logan find an attorney, but when things don’t seem right with how Logan’s case is perceived and handled, Veronica finds herself being pulled back into a life she thought she had left behind.

Clear your schedule on Sunday, May 26, because after a very very very long wait we’ll be getting new episodes of the cult comedy Arrested Development. You might want to also call in sick on Monday, as Netflix will be releasing all 15 episodes of the new season in one day. Yeah, I said 15. This is the second time that they have upped the episode count since they went into production. Hopefully this means good things- maybe we’ll get lucky enough to another season after this one? All of the regulars (pictured above) are returning along with most of the show’s famed guest stars (Liza Minnelli, Scot Baio, Henry Winkler) and a new crop of awesome guests including John Slattery, Seth Rogen, Isla Fisher, and Terry Crews to name a few.

While on the subject of television shows getting new life, how can I not mention Veronica Mars. With only six days to to go, the beloved show’s movie Kickstarter campaign has raised more than $4.6 million dollars and counting from over 70 thousand backers! The impressive campaign has broken records and I’m glad to admit that I “backed” the film also. It is not often that fans are able to directly impact the future of a canceled television show, and while I didn’t watch the show while it was on (always loved the idea but never had the time), I’m glad that I could help bring it back to life. The series was created by Rob Thomas and starred Kristen Bell, Percy Daggs III, Jason Dohring, Francis Capra, Enrico Colantoni, and Ryan Hansen.

Angel‘s green skinned, karaoke singing demon Lorne (Andy Hallet) died of heart failure on March 31st.  He was only 33 years old and had been battling heart disease for five years. The My Hollywood Dream staff will miss him.

While on the subject of death, a lot of characters are turning up dead on TV… (Continue reading for the full article — Contains Spoilers)

As much as I wanted to see Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D this weekend, I optioned to stay at home instead. There is a ton of stuff online to keep me busy! Enjoy the rest of the weekend…

  • When you work as a writer for Marvel Studios, they own your soul for three years. In other Marvel news, Mephisto was named the new President of Production. (Film Drunk)
  • It is more or less official, the Veronica Mars movie ain’t happening. (Pop Wrap)
  • Every new film that James Cameron is planning with be made in 3D. What are the chances that he’ll go back and give Aliens the 3D treatment? Because that would be awesome. (Time)
  • The economy sucks, so how can we save money while still enjoying the movie experience? (Killer Film)
  • A few new clips from Pixar’s UP have found their way online! I can not wait to see Pixar’s first 3D feature. (Latino Review)
  • While I really enjoyed Friday’s episode of Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, the ending took a major misstep.  You can watch it at this link… (IMDB) Do you agree? Disagree?
