It has been a while since we did one of these, but it is a great way to recap some of what is happening. Since we have a new look, why not bring back an old favorite column.
DEXTER IS BACK… WITH A TWIST & A GREAT CAST
Dexter: Original Sin is the new prequel series set 15 years before the original series began. It is officially in production and sports a fantastic cast! Breaking today is Sarah Michelle Gellar joining the cast as Tanya Martin, the CSI Chief at Miami Metro. She joins already announced cast members including Patrick Dempsey, Christian Slater, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Reno Wilson, Alex Shimizu, and Patrick Gibson as young Dexter.
AXEL FOLEY RETURNS TO
BEVERLY HILLS
Next week Eddie Murphy’s iconic character Axel Foley returns in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F on Netflix. I’ll be honest, I’m so stinking excited for this sequel. I know we don’t need it, but I love the character and streaming is the perfect place for a nostalgic action comedy series. Maybe they’ll keep making them? Joining Murphy in Beverly Hills is Taylour Paige as his estranged daughter, along with franchise co-stars Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, and Bronson Pinchot all returning. Additional new cast members include Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kevin Bacon, Luis Guzmán, and Mark Pellegrino.
DEADPOOL BRINGS MARVEL STUDIOS BACK TO HALL H
After a year off from the San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios is coming back to Hall H with Deadpool’s guns blazing and Wolverine’s claws sharpened! It sure helps that this year’s comic-con falls on the opening weekend of Deadpool & Wolverine. I’d be shocked if Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman did not show up to celebrate and cause some chaotic fun. I’m also crossing my fingers for the first appearance on stage before by the new Fantastic Four cast; Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. We will without a doubt get first looks at footage for Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts. Maybe Disney+ updates for Agatha All Along, Wonder Man and Iron Heart?
What are you hoping to see Marvel bring to SDCC this year? Are you as excited for Deadpool & Wolverine as we are?
