For the past year or so there have been rumors that the upcoming DCEU movie The Flash was going to reboot the movie universe (or multiverse) for future DC Comics movies. This seemed even more likely after both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton were cast as Batman (both reprising their past takes on the character). Now the rumors have fired up again, and this time with the added unconfirmed (no spoilers here) rumor that the rebooted universe may get its own Justice League.

Lets take a moment to look at who could be in this… Justice League Unlimited.

The Flash (Ezra Miller)

If The Flash will reshape the universe, they are putting a lot on Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen/Flash and he will need to be the glue to keep the new Justice League together. I can not imagine them moving forward in that way without him being a part of the new team.

Supergirl (Sasha Calle)

We have only seen her briefly in the trailer for The Flash, but can tell that she will be a key part of the movie (and future movies?). We have an excellent Superman on TV with Superman & Lois, so maybe having a different member of the Superman family as part of the DCEU’s Justice League makes sense. And there is where Sasha Calle’s version of Supergirl comes into play. From the suit design we can already tell that she is a version of the character we have not seen in live-action (a very different version than the Arrow-verse one). Someone on the team needs to have the “S”, so why not Supergirl?

Green Lantern John Stewart (John Boyega)

No, before you start any rumors, John Boyega has not been cast as John Stewart for the upcoming HBO Max series Green Lanterns Corps! But they should! We are now getting into the area of fan casting. Boyega is a fantastic actor and has the perfect balance of toughness and smarts that makes up John Stewart. I know that somewhere in the DC multiverse is Ryan Reynolds’ Hal Jordan waiting to light up his CGI suit, but if there is a Green Lantern as part of this new DCEU, I really hope that John Stewart is a part of it.

Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell)

There is no reason for the new DCEU not to pick and choose characters from past DC movies that deserve to be seen again. Jurnee Smollett-Bell’s Black Canary was a new take on a classic character that worked really well in the Birds of Prey movie and she’d be a welcome addition to a new Justice League. Like the Avengers, you need to balance the team with not only god-like powerful characters, but grounded heroes as well. With Smollett-Bell reprising the role in an upcoming HBO Max movie, it would make sense for her to crossover into the wider new DCEU.

In part 2 of “Who Should Be in a DCEU JLUnlimited?” we will explore more fan casting of characters we haven’t seen yet along with a few familiar faces (maybe even a TV character that should make the jump). Who do you want to see in a new Justice League?

The next film from independent producer/director Kipp Tribble (Producer of The Stay, Director of Char Man) has been announced! Evil At The Door will premiere on the all new Terror Films AVOD channel on January 21, 2022 and will expand wide on January 28, 2022. The independent horror film was also produced by Tribble along with Patrick Rivera, and Kenny Yates, with Richard Siegelman as Executive Producer.

Official Description: Evil At The Door centers around a secret guild that has operated for nearly a century, known as The Locusts. Once a year this guild treats its members to a night of curated home invasions (aka, “runs”), known underground as “The Night of The Locusts”. With 180 minutes to do as they please with the occupants of the selected home, four masked men enter the home of Daniel and Jessica and begin to engage in sick, twisted games with them.

Unbeknownst to the intruders, Liz, Jessica’s younger sister, is hiding under the bed. While the run time winds down, Liz plots her escape as The Locusts realize there is a traitor in their group. But will the division amongst the intruders be enough distraction for Liz to survive before The Locusts’ clock runs out? (Source: Kipp Tribble)

The horror flick stars Bruce Davison, Andrea Sweeney Blanco, Robert Allen Mukes, and Sunny Doench, along with Tribble, Yates, and Siegelman. Here are some preview images for Evil At The Door:

This post will not include any spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home! This is just me thinking out load what villains I’d love to see in a potential MCU Spider-Man 4. And with any modern superhero movie, one villain just is not enough, so here are the pairs of villains I’d love to see Spider-Man face off against in the potential future movie.

Kraven the Hunter + The Chameleon

I know. Whenever I talk about potential Spider-Man movie villains, Kraven the Hunter is always on my list (see here, here & here). He is a classic villain who can go toe to toe with Spider-Man with speed, agility, and strength. He is a hunter who stops at nothing to catch his prey. He is very different than the past villains that the MCU Spider-Man has come across- he is not in this for greed (Vulture) or tech (Mysterio), but a desire to best Spider-Man. I’d add into the mix the Chameleon, Kraven’s half brother, to make things a bit more interesting and to tie them to Spider-Man Far From Home which introduced Chameleon’s alter ago Dimitri Smerdyakov (portrayed by Numan Acar). The Chameleon can use his master of disguise skills to trick Spider-Man into a situation where he’ll need to face off with Kraven (in lets say… Central Park).

Kingpin + The Prowler

I’ve watched to see a live-action Kingpin vs Spider-Man ever since first seeing them face off in the 90s Spider-Man animated series. The villain’s tower, filled with weapons, robots, and other villains, is the perfect place for them to have a climatic fight (maybe Kingpin used fake companies to buy Avengers tower??). With Into The Spider-Verse pairing Kingpin with the Prowler, I think the dynamic could work well here also. The Prowler moves like Spider-Man and is much better than the crime boss visually in a fight with the friendly neighborhood hero. Would Prowler be Kingpin’s right hand? Or more of a reluctant villain? It was great seeing Donald Glover as Prowler’s alter ago Aaron Davis in Spider-Man Homecoming, and I would LOVE to see him return to the role. Having him in the mix could also lead to the first MCU appearance of Miles Morales, who is Davis’ nephew.

Man-Wolf + J. Jonah Jameson

J. Jonah Jameson has always been one of Spider-Man’s main foes (and sometimes his reluctant ally). JK Simmons owned the role in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies, and it was so good to see him in Far From Home. I will not discuss No Way Home, but he can be seen in the trailers and viral marketing, so I’ll leave that there. In the comics & animated shows Jameson has been known to get more hands on with his hate for Spider-Man and has tried to take out the Spider-Menace himself. John Jameson aka Man-Wolf is J. Jonah’s son and had a great introduction in Raimi’s Spider-Man 2. I fully believe if Raimi kept making Spier-Man movies that John would have become Man-Wolf. It did not happen, but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen now! John Jameson could be on a mission in space where he finds the mystical Godstone, and upon taking it back to earth he turns into the Man-Wolf and terrorizes NYC. J. Jonah Jameson could take advantage of his son’s new found strength/rage and convince him to go after Spider-Man. Man-Wolf adds a layer of horror to Spidey what we have not seen in any live-action version of the character. Could be pretty cool. No matter what happens in future Spider-Man movies, I think we all want JK Simmons to keep appearing!

What is your book series Munchkin Tales about?
Munchkin Tales, Book 1: Our lost Heritage is about three Munchkin cousins who want to leave Oz and have their own adventure. The first problem is no one is allowed to go out the back gates of the Emerald City which is the only way out. And no one knows why no one knows they can’t leave. They do find a way out, but only after some serious attempts to end them before they ever go. They can’t understand why it should be such an issue, but with the help of the Wizard, they soon at least get an inkling of who is behind them not wanting to leave. They have begun their quest and meet a strange and powerful ally, who they first thought would have them for dinner – as on the menu! Their world has just grown sevenfold, and their rather simple carefree life is suddenly flooded with more questions that only serves to make them more determined to find the answers to.

In Book 2, The Throg, they confront a whole new land. These kindred Munchkins, who when they last had contact with Oz, were at war with Oz. But getting through this land is imperative to solving the newfound problems they are discovering with their homeland. The problems they face are so much more complex than anything they would have ever dreamt of. Their best hope of getting through this land is the truth. But they soon learn that may just bring a quick end to any promise of getting the ultimate help they will need to save Oz. But turning back is no longer an option, and with both old and new adversaries coming after them, not to mention arrows, they are challenged to the max.

This will be a six book series with each book broadening their perspectives, while trying their best just to stay alive. The hope is to get back to Oz in time to save their families and their culture from pending doom.

What inspired this story?
These books started as rather simple bedtime stories I told my daughters when they were 7 and 9 years old. I was impressed with how anxiously they would climb into their beds waiting for the next chapter. Then it was all verbally made up as I went along. My daughters have been after me for years to write them down. These tales are much more complex and I am greatly enjoying the writing of them.

Tell us a little about you, who is Denny Griffith?
I, along with my wife, am the 45 year owner and operator of a child care center in Fort Collins, Colorado. I’m now 70 years old with three children and six grandchildren. I will soon be retiring and looking forward to working on this series of books and getting them out in a much faster pace than I’ve been able to so far. Although I’m really not much of a reader myself, I have enjoyed science fiction, many of the classics by the likes of Mark Twain, Edna Thurber, Robert Lewis Stevenson, and J.R.R Tolkien.

How can we read Munchkin Tales Book 2: The Throg and the other books in the Munchkin Tales series?

Writer/director Steven Tsapelas, the creator of We Need Girlfriends, just wrapped production on his new independent feature film UFO Club. The movie is being made by In the Garage Productions and produced by Shawna Brandle, Michael Cannetti, and Kenneth R Frank, who is also the movie’s cinematographer, and executive produced by David Rheingold.

The rom com is set in the 90s, Tsapelas told us that it follows “a nerdy high school senior” who has to “strike up a friendship with an intimidating classmate because he believes she has a video that will prove the existence of aliens.” That nerdy high school senior William is portrayed by Spencer Gonzalez, while his intimidating classmate Alex is portrayed by Eloise Gordon. Rounding out the cast is Josiah Schneider as Chris, Paolo Kossi as Johnny, Emma Magnus as Vicki, Meghan Palmer as Jacquelyn DeNatale, and Frank Failla as the Fanny Pack Man.

The Official Plot Description: Nerdy high school senior WILLIAM discovers his hero, a local UFO hunter, has been arrested for a serious crime. Convinced of his innocence, William sets out to find a VHS tape of a ‘flying saucer crash’ that was raffled off during a meeting of his high school’s UFO Club. However, the tape went to a girl named ALEX, an intimidatingly confident Ska music fan. Worried that she might be a part of the conspiracy, William strikes up a friendship with her in order to find out if he can trust her. But, his search for “the truth” is complicated when he falls in love. A quirky romantic comedy set in 1998.
