Summit Entertainment, the company behind the successful but painful to watch vampire series Twilight, is working with Brad Pitt on another vampire, Dracula. The company has picked up Vlad, which focuses on Vlad the Impaler, the young brutal prince who is the man that inspired the Dracula legend. Vlad was known for impaling his victims and leaving their bodies on display.
Is is unknown whether Pitt will star as Vlad, or just produce the project along with Summit. The movie is being helmed by Anthony Mandler, a music video director.
While I hate the thought of Summit entertainment doing their take on the legend of Dracula, I have always been fascinated by the story of Vlad the Impaler. I think it is ripe for a movie, I just want to see it done right.
