Joining the anti-hero are Avengers Captain America and Wolverine, both of whom are tired to Deadpool’s past. All are joined as weird siblings of sorts due to the Super Soldier/Weapon X/Weapon Plus programs. How do you think this will all come together?

Deadpool Kills Deadpool Issue 1

Recently we took a look at an epic battle and tried to figure out who would win in a fight between the Marvel Comic anti-hero Deadpool and the DC Comics villain Deathstroke. People are very split on the results. Now, Marvel is presenting an even harder question; who would win in a fight of Deadpool vs Deadpool… Wait, what?

Deadpool Kills Deadpool is an all new four part limited series from writer Cullen Bunn and artist Salva Espin. It is the final limited series in a trilogy of four parters dubbed “The Deadpool Killogy” that began in “Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe” where he went on a rampage and took out Marvel’s big guns, and continued in “Deadpool Killustrated” where the Merc with a Mouth took out such literary classic characters as Moby Dick, Tom Sawyer, Scrooge, the Three Musketeers, and Sherlock Holmes. Now, Deadpool is jumping across universes to kill all of the versions of himself that are out there. So get ready for Deadpool vs Deadpool vs Deadpool vs Deadpool. Maybe after he clears out these versions of himself he’ll head to the DC Comics universe and take on Deathstroke?

Deadpool Kills Deadpool #1 (of 4)
Official Description: The final act of the Deadpool Killogy begins! Deadpool sets his sites on the ultimate target…himself! Contains over 700% of your daily recommended Deadpool!

The issue hits stands on Wednesday July 3rd, 2013 from Marvel Comics.

Next week, Marvel Now!’s all new take on the merc with the mouth continues in Deadpool #3 from the comedy writing team of Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn along with one of comic’s best artists Tony Moore, with a cover by Moore and a variant by Geoff Darrow. Deadpool’s epic battle with zombie presidents continues as he faces off with Richard Nixon (where is David Frost when you need him!?). Guest starring Doctor Strange… you know, they had me with zombie Nixon, but I always enjoy an appearance by the good doctor. I love how Marvel Now! is pulling heroes from all around the Marvel Universe together. It really feels like a much tighter universe since the end of “Avengers vs. X-Men” and I hope this continues and is not a passing phase.

Deadpool #3
Official Description: Deadpool vs. Dead Presidents…this time, TRICKY DICK NIXON! Can even Doctor Strange help the M w/the M? This is the Deadpool series you will marry someday!

Marvel Now! Deadpool #3 hits stands next Wednesday December 5th, 2012. Also coming out next Wednesday from Marvel Comics are All-New X-Men #3, Amazing Spider-Man #699, Avenging Spider-Man #15, and Avengers #1 (more on that later!), among others. Have you been picking up the Marvel Now! take on Deadpool?

Last week Marvel Now! kicked off with a bang with the release of Uncanny Avengers #1. In the aftermath of Avengers vs X-Men, the world has changed and the mutant gene has been reactivated. With that a new team of Avengers formed with a mix of classic Avengers and new mutant members like Rogue and Havok. In addition to the new series, Marvel is relaunching most of their lineup with new number 1s with fresh creative teams in the mix.

The merc with the mouth, Deadpool, is one of the series that will be getting a new number one. While he did not beat Deathstroke in our recent head to head match up [SEE: Deathstroke vs Deadpool, Who Would Win?], the assassin is ready to take on giant monsters (see above) and dead presidents in his new title, written by the comedy team of Gerry Duggan, a writer of Attack of the Show!, and comedian/actor Brian Posehn, who appeared in Fox’s horrible Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The art in the series is by Toy Moore, who I think has one of the cleanest and coolest styles. He drew the first few issues of The Walking Dead, which blow away most other titles and helped the book stand out.

DEADPOOL #1
Official Issue Description: Marvel is pleased to present your first look at Deadpool #1, kicking off the all-new ongoing series from the blockbuster creative team of writers & comedians Brian Posehn (The Sara Silverman Program), Gerry Duggan (Attack of the Show!, Infinite Horizon) and superstar artist Tony Moore (The Walking Dead)! Washington, D.C. is in turmoil when dead former U.S. Presidents – from George Washington to Gerald Ford – are resurrected and the heroes of the Marvel Universe can’t be the ones to stop them! There’s only one other person that has the reputation, skills, and plausible deniability to handle these com-monsters in chief…NOW! is the time for Deadpool! In Wade We Trust!

Deadpool #1 hits stands and the digital marketplace in three weeks on November 7th. Are you excited for the new team on the book? Ready for the mix of action, comedy, and gore?

The battle between DC’s ‘The Terminator’ and Marvel’s ‘Merc with a Mouth’ will surely be a close fought one. What makes it closer is that Deadpool was adapted from Deathstroke and hence the similarities between them are actually quite remarkable. So let’s get into the arena and find out if the “adapted one” can actually beat up the “original”.

Name: Slade Wilson, Deathstroke the Terminator
Affiliations: No known affiliations
Background: A former Lt. Colonel in the US Army, he was chosen for a special army experiment which he willingly agreed to. The experiment initially left him powerless and crippled, but later it enhanced his body’s powers and made him a force to be reckoned with.

He became a mercenary but kept his identity as a secret like superheroes. During a mission he got his son kidnapped. Though he later rescued his son, his wife was angry and shot him, wounding his right eye. Ever since then he wears a featureless mask to hide his right eye. He was hired to kill and capture Teen Titans and has been their enemy since.

VS

Name: Wade Winston Wilson, Deadpool (Look at the similarity in the name as well)
Affiliations: Initially a villain in New Mutants, he soon appeared as a mercenary who changed sides quite often depending on who pays him more money. He has appeared in Avengers and is now a part of X-Men. He was also a part of the Heroes for Hire team.
Background : Losing his parents at an early age, Wade enrolled in the US Military Special Forces. He was consequently kicked out due to disciplinary actions. He became a mercenary but killed only those people who he felt deserved to die. Later he became a part of Department K which promised to cure him when he was diagnosed with cancer. Being a test subject his cancer was subdued via the healing factor derived from Wolverine, but this was just temporary. Later in the hospice, when the sadistic assistant Ajax tried to kill him by pulling out his heart, his healing factor suddenly jumpstarted and regenerated his heart, although it did not not cure his other body scars. He moved out of the hospice and now serves as a mercenary.

LET THE FIGHT BEGIN !!!

Skill:
Deadpool attacks with his semi-automatic pistols and his dual swords strapped to his back. He also has an M82A1 Sniper rifle to take out targets from a distance. As he was a part of the US Military Special Forces, Deadpool knows a variety of martial arts and is an expert swordsman and marksman.

Deathstroke uses similar weapons as Deadpool with the only exception being the Power Staff/Energy Lance. This power staff is basically a fighting staff augmented with the addition of ballistic weaponry. Deathstroke uses the Promethian sword instead of the twin blades used by Deadpool. He carries a flash bomb in his armour which is capable of blinding even the legendary Justice League.

Deathstroke’s enhanced strength makes Deadpool’s argument pretty weak when comparing the two. Though the healing factor serum gave some amount of strength to Deadpool it is nothing when compared to the power that Deathstroke commands. Deadpool’s fighting style is hit and evade rather than the standard hit and block. In fact Deadpool is often seen carrying a number of teleportation devices to help his cause.

The edge in this round goes to Deathstroke for his super enhanced strength and better (and more lethal) weapons.

  • Deathstroke – 75/100
  • Deadpool – 60/100

Intellect:
Deathstroke is actually considered the greatest strategist in the DC universe (beating even Batman) and is always able to anticipate the opponent’s move beforehand due to his extremely sharp reflexes. He has the capability to use 90% of his brain which is 9 times more than what an average human can. He has to his credit the feat of single-handedly defeating the entire Justice League of America roster and vanquishing the meta humans. Deathstroke wins this round hands down as his intellect is far more superior than Deadpool’s.

  • Deathstroke –90/100
  • Deadpool – 70 /100

Armour:
Deathstroke wears a thick woven, Kevlar and chain link mail which can stop bullets from small firearms. The Promethium mesh layering also protects him from conventional injury. Deadpool wears clothed red and black armour and relies far more on his superior regenerative healing to aid him during the battles rather than armour.

Deathstroke wins this round as he actually has some real armour…

  • Deathstroke – 55/100
  • Deadpool – 30/100

Special Abilities:
As both these lab rats are genetically mutated they have a large number of special powers, but we will look at only the major ones.

Deadpool

  • Superhuman Reflexes
  • Superhuman Agility
  • Telepathic Immunity
  • Extended Longevity
  • Regenerative Healing Factor – As understood this allows him to regenerate and heal faster than normal human beings, but to regenerate an extra heart is something tremendous. He has once even fought and won a battle with a sword stuck to his brain. Also unlike Wolverine’s natural healing factor, Deadpool can mentally control his healing factor.

Deathstroke

  • Enhanced Mind and Senses
  • Enhanced Strength
  • Enhanced Immunity
  • Retard Aging
  • Regenerative Healing Factor – Deathstroke’s body can endure lots of pain before actually going down. He can shake off gunshot wounds and stabs and even deadly poisons.

This round goes too…

  • Deathstroke – 60/100
  • Deadpool – 90/100

RESULT

This battle goes to…

DEATHSTROKE

I guess Deadpool’s advantage of the regenerative healing factor and his ability to teleport wouldn’t be as effective when he is up against a master tactician and strategist like Deathstroke. Well tough luck Deadpool even though your sense of humour in the comics is very much appreciated.

  • Deathstroke – 280/400
  • Deadpool – 250/400
