Article by PJ Flip with contributions from The Pit.

The CW Network has updated their Smallville photo gallery with pictures of Laura Vandervoort as Supergirl and James Marsters as Brainiac. Also intriguing is a picture with witht he caption “Lex Luthor “. Another clone? Or could it be the real Luthor?  Start here for the picture’s with Marsters, and over here for the pics of Vandervoort’s return.

David E. Kelly (Boston Legal, The Practice, Ally McBeal) is bringing DC Comic’s hero Wonder Woman back to TV. The superhero was famously portrayed by Lynda Carter in the 70’s series The New Adventures of Wonder Woman.  It would have been cool to have this on the air at the same time as Smallville with possible crossovers, but who knows what kind of world Kelly is planing to craft. Ultra-realistic? Will it have more of a legal feel like his other shows? Over in the comics, Wonder Woman’s costume and history was recently redesigned/updated to look more modern and realistic.

Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies) is remaking The Munsters. This is cool on many levels.

Summer Glau to guest star as Greta on Chuck, and tonight, Stacy Keibler will guest star as Greta on.  This gag with the different agents taking over the Greta role in the buy more is fun, but I couldn’t help but think that they could have used Glau in a bigger role. Keibler is guest starring and will throw fists with another ex-professional wrestler, Stone Cold Steve Austin, who makes a return appearance.

FOX’s Lone Star is the first show to get canceled, after only two episodes, while ABC’s My Generation is the second show to get canceled, also after only two episodes. What will be next? Likely Undercovers, which is at the bottom of the NBC ratings pool.

Snooki is starring in her own dating show and writing a book? It’s not April Fools Day yet, is it?

Eliza Dushku will guest star on The Big Bang Theory. She will play an FBI agent named Angela.

What’s happening in the world of television? Keep reading…

  • USA network has renewed White Collar, Royal Pains, and Psych for new seasons. Which USA shows have episodes that you can watch online?
  • The OC star Rachel Bilson is re-teaming up with OC creator Josh Schwartz (also the man behind Chuck and Gossip Girl) for a new pilot for NBC. The pilot is for an hour long supernatural comedy, Ghost Angeles, which is rumored to center around a girl who can speak to the dead. I love Bilson and I’d be happy to see her back as a regular on TV. Maybe they can even find a way to get Adam Brody to guest star.
  • Out with the old and in with the… weird. American Idol has announced its two new judges that will join Randy Jackson in the show’s 10th season, they are none other than Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. Does anyone else think that this combo is completely bizarre? Watch the train wreck unfold in January.
  • The Fox con man drama Lone Star is the first canceled show of the new season.  While it was a critic’s darling, the show barely showed up in the ratings department in its two airings. I guess this will free up stars James Wolk, Adrianne Palicki, and Jon Voight to move onto other shows. Did anyone actually take the time to watch the show? Did it deserve such a quick demise?
  • Boardwalk Empire made its premiere last week, and I have to admit, I dug it. It had a small drop off in ratings in its second airing, but HBO is confident enough in the series to give it a second season.
  • I’m not sure how I missed it, but there was a five episode Chuck related webseries, Buy Hard: The Story of Jeff and Lester. The series focuses Jeff and Lester after last season’s finale, as they adjust to living life on the lam after they are suspected of burning down the Buy More.

chuck me mondays

Don’t forget, there is an all new episode of Chuck on tonight. As usual, 8pm on NBC. What should we expect tonight?

“There are crimes of fashion when Chuck and Sarah go undercover in Milan for Fashion Week to seize a high-tech weapon, yet Chuck soon recognizes a flaw in his relationship with Sarah. Meanwhile, Morgan discovers a vulnerability about the new Buy More; and Casey futilely tries to make his home in Burbank.”

Entertainment News from The Pit, Movies, TV, Games, Awesome

The fall television season is in full swing as the summer movie season is officially over. Surprisingly we still had a decent weekend of films with Ben Affleck’s The Town opening to number 1 with the Emma Stone starer Easy A in a close second. What else is going on in the world of entertainment?

  • Horror legend Wes Craven has been giving away a ton of signed My Soul to Take posters via his Twitter. The flick was written and directed by Craven and focuses on a small town where a serial killer returns and stalks seven children who share his birthday. Sounds like a nice old school slasher to me. Welcome back Mr. Craven.
  • Speaking of Chuck, yesterday was the premiere! If you missed it go watch when it is posted online!!! The premiere guest starred Linda Hamilton and Dolph Lundgren… Yeah, it was awesome. Chuck airs on NBC at 8pm.
  • Marvel Comics have announced their latest Dark Tower series, Dark Tower: The Gunslinger – The Little Sisters Of Eluria.  The new series will be written by Robin Furth and Peter David with art by Luke Ross.  The official description of the new title: “After being terribly wounded from a vicious battle with a band of slow mutants, Roland Deschain is taken in by a group of hideous creatures known as the Little Sisters of Eluria and must battle. Roland’s journey has been long and treacherous and now there is nothing he can do to fend off the Little Sisters and whatever they have in store for him. Will the Gunslinger live to see the light of day?
  • Have you checked out any of the new Fall shows yet? What have you been digging?

The folks at NBC were kind enough to put the Chuck panel up online. This is the whole panel minus any clips they showed (with a few annoying but understandable commercials mixed in). Enjoy it… (expect spoilers)

(Now, I’m going to talk about spoilers) I love the idea of the CIA taking over the Buy More and adding other agents into the mix. It should be funny to see how Jeffster, Big Mike, and the others react to this. Linda Hamilton as Chuck’s mom is completely basass, I just hope she is good and not evil. I hope we can see some of what happened to Chuck’s parents in the past.

Other casting news; Olivia Munn and the “Old Spice” guy Isaiah Mustafa will be guest starring as CIA agents, and villains Stone Cold Steve Austin and Nicole Richie will be returning. With Richie returning, hopefully that means we’ll learn more about Sarah’s mysterious past. I also love the addition of Mekenna Melvin as Casey’s daughter Alex. I really hope that we’ll see more of her in the upcoming season.

Are you excited about the new season of Chuck? Discuss it below! NBC’s Comic Con panels for The Event, The Cape, and Community are also online, you can check them out here.

Persons Unknown

Actually, the better question might be; have you seen where Persons Unknown has gone? The series got off to a very slow (and anti-climatic) start, but with a strong premise, a stylized visual presentation, and interesting characters it showed potential. Then, NBC struck. I sat down to watch the show one day to find that it was moved an hour earlier without any notice (TV Guide didn’t even have this update), and the following week it was just gone.

Canceled?

That is what I thought until this past Saturday when I caught the last 5 minutes of a new episode.  Is it really hard for NBC to promote the timeslot change, or better yet, let the series ride out in the slot that it began in. Sure, the series might not be killing in the ratings department, but with constant time changes and no notice to viewers, they are alienating the few viewers the show does have.  Thankfully, we can check out new episodes online.  I’m going to catch up on the series, hoping that it hits its potential and that NBC will air the rest of the episodes giving it a proper ending. The newest three episodes are linked on Persons Unknown‘s 141tv profile.
