Oh man is tonight a busy TV night. My DVR will be working overtime to record the season premieres of the Emmy winning Outstanding Drama Homeland’s second season, along with the return of Once Upon a Time, now with 100% more magic in present day, and the show that I anticipate most week to week, Dexter. Spoilers will follow on Dexter‘s shocking season 6 finale. You sir, have been warned.

When we last left our favorite vigilante serial killer Dexter, he was literally caught red handed by his sister (and police lieutenant) Debra. For six seasons we have seen him do everything in his power to avoid this moment, lying, pitting the blame on others, and even killing to protect his secret. What will he do now that he has been exposed? And what will she do? I’m sure the wounds that Dexter’s serial killer brother left on Debra in season 1 will resurface as she battles with herself about turning him in or not. This is just the sorta twist that the show needed to stay fresh and after season six split the audience with love and hate (I personally loved it), the show might have a lot it needs to prove to old fans.

The series costars Michael C Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, Lauren Velez, Desmond Harrington, James Remar, and David Zayas. Joining them this season will be special guest stars including Yvonne Strahovski from Chuck, and Ray Stevenson from Punisher: War Zone. Tune in tonight on Showtime at 9pm if you subscribe. If not, there are a lot of other shows for you to check out tonight.

Chuckvs Freddy

Chuck has had a non-stop revolving door of pretty cool guest stars this season, including Dolph Lundgren, Linda Hamilton, the Old Spice guy, Lou Ferrigno, Olivia Munn, Eric roberts, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Nicole Richie, but has he finally met his match with Robert Englund, aka Freddy Kruger? In tonight’s all new Halloween themed episode, Englund takes on the role of Dr. Stanley Wheelwright, a (mad) scientist that has created a nightmare-inducing toxin. Can Chuck and the gang stop him from releasing it? Or even worse, selling it to someone even worse who could mass produce it and use it as a weapon?  Linda Hamilton returns tonight as Chuck’s mom and hopefully we will get some information on where she has been and if she is as evil as she appears to be. I’m hoping not. Chuck airs at 8pm on NBC.

chuck new seasonWe have some CHUCKing awesome news today, our favorite geek turned spy series has not only gotten its 4th season extended from 13 episodes to a full season order, but instead of the suspected 9 episodes, the series got picked up for an additional 11 episodes! That makes the 4th season of Chuck 24 episodes total!

The show, which has been on a creative high for the past two seasons, added Linda Hamilton of Terminator fame as Chuck’s long lost mother.  Chuck and the gang have been using all of their resources to locate her, thinking that she has been a prisoner of the season’s new big bad. As we found out yesterday, she may not be a prisoner after all, but might just be the big bad they are looking for.

If you haven’t seen yesterday’s episode yet, stop what you are doing and check it out. (spoiler alert) It ended with a cliffhanger of Chuck getting a call from his mother.  Next week’s episode is Halloween themed and features horror icon and the original Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund as Dr. Stanley Wheelwright, an evil scientist that wants to release a nightmare-inducing toxin on the public.   If you have been busy and missed the past few episodes of the series, you can head over to the show’s 141tv profile to check out the last 4 episodes.

chuck me mondays

Don’t forget, there is an all new episode of Chuck on tonight. As usual, 8pm on NBC. What should we expect tonight?

“There are crimes of fashion when Chuck and Sarah go undercover in Milan for Fashion Week to seize a high-tech weapon, yet Chuck soon recognizes a flaw in his relationship with Sarah. Meanwhile, Morgan discovers a vulnerability about the new Buy More; and Casey futilely tries to make his home in Burbank.”

The folks at NBC were kind enough to put the Chuck panel up online. This is the whole panel minus any clips they showed (with a few annoying but understandable commercials mixed in). Enjoy it… (expect spoilers)

(Now, I’m going to talk about spoilers) I love the idea of the CIA taking over the Buy More and adding other agents into the mix. It should be funny to see how Jeffster, Big Mike, and the others react to this. Linda Hamilton as Chuck’s mom is completely basass, I just hope she is good and not evil. I hope we can see some of what happened to Chuck’s parents in the past.

Other casting news; Olivia Munn and the “Old Spice” guy Isaiah Mustafa will be guest starring as CIA agents, and villains Stone Cold Steve Austin and Nicole Richie will be returning. With Richie returning, hopefully that means we’ll learn more about Sarah’s mysterious past. I also love the addition of Mekenna Melvin as Casey’s daughter Alex. I really hope that we’ll see more of her in the upcoming season.

Are you excited about the new season of Chuck? Discuss it below! NBC’s Comic Con panels for The Event, The Cape, and Community are also online, you can check them out here.

Save Chuck on NBC

Okay, so we might not have to Save Chuck yet, but until we have an official pick up for a new season we might as well remind NBC that the series has a huge fanbase. The awesome Chuck fansite, ChuckTV.net is hosting a series of “Flash Mobs” in four major cities (Seattle, Chicago, San Diego, and Philadelphia) on Monday.

A “Flash Mob” is a mass gathering that appears to be spontaneous. In the past they have been dance routines and staged shows. I’m not fully sure what they are planning for this Chuck based one, but I’m excited to see the outcome. Click here for more info and find out how you can get involved!

Chuck Guest Starring Superman Brandon Routh

Tonight brings us an all new installment of Chuck on NBC at 8pm. Joining the cast (for at least a few episodes) is Superman, aka Brandon Routh (pictured above with Chuck!).  The new episode, “Chuck Versus Operation Awesome”, continues off last week’s cliffhanger that left the fate of Captain Awesome in the balance. The episode also guest stars Angie Harmon.
