Thursday is an all new episode of Heroes. That is something I never thought I’d say again. Check out this new teaser for Heroes: Reborn.

The continuation of the popular superhero drama is this Thursday, September 24 at 8pm on NBC. Jack Coleman returns as HRG to lead a new group of heroes and villains, included in the mix is Chuck‘s Zachary Levi.

Catch up on Heroes with the past seasons…

Thor - Jamie Alexander

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has been getting better with every episode. The cast is gelling with each other and everyone plays a roll. The mysteries of Agent Coulson’s return from the dead and Skye’s mysterious past are front and center and building, along with the question of who is The Clairvoyant (aka the first season’s “big bad”).  Now we have news that Thor‘s Lady Shif (Jamie Alexander) will be joining the mix in an upcoming episode. Will The Clairvoyant end up being tied to Asgard? Does Lady Shif hold the key to who he might be? Will anyone else from Asgard end up visiting our Government sponsored Scooby Gang? I’d love to also see Thor: The Dark World‘s Fandral (Zachary Levi) show up. It has been too long since we have seen Levi on the small screen.

Captain America

Agent Carter is one step closer to becoming a reality as Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas (writers on Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse) have been chosen as potential showrunners. The pair created the supernatural comedy Reaper, which was very enjoyable in its early run. It is interesting to think where they might go with Agent Carter, as we learned in the Marvel One-Shot short that she will be the co-head of the newly formed SHIELD, along with Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper). Rumor has it that Hayley Atwell will return as Peggy Carter, but no word on if Cooper will reprise Stark or if we’ll see other familiar faces from Captain America: The First Avenger, including Dum Dum Dugan (Neal McDonough), Jim Morita (Kenneth Choi) or any of the other Howling Commandos.

On one hand, if the series gets made we’ll be able to visit some of the unseen Marvel history between the first Captain America and Ironman. But on the other hand, we already have a SHIELD series, do we really need a second one? I’d love to see a different side of the Marvel Universe, like Black Panther or Doctor Strange. But I guess both of them are rumored to be the center of future films. I guess we’ll see.

Earlier today, PJFlip over at 141tv was kind enough to point out a new (and very creative webseries) to us; Video Game High School. The official concept behind the series:

About Video Game High School: It’s the near future: You’re dead. Your kids are probably dead. Your grandkids (if they’re alive) are playing video games. Why? Because professional gaming is the biggest sport on earth.

Around the world, millions of players duke it out in fighters, RTS’s, First Person Shooters and more. To the victors go the spoils: glory, clan contracts and million dollar endorsements. The best young gamers are recruited by elite boarding schools to sharpen their skills. The best of the best go to VGHS: VIDEO GAME HIGH SCHOOL.

VGHS is a feature-length action/comedy web series (9 episodes, ~10 mins per episode) about best friends, first loves, and landing that perfect head shot. It follows Brian, a young FPS player stuck in a town where he doesn’t belong. His fortunes change when he scores a massive kill against the world’s top amateur player: VGHS senior “The Law.”

Brian rockets into the national spotlight and lands an invite into the hallowed halls of VGHS. There his skills will be tested as he fights to fit in with the most talented gamers alive. Along the way he’ll make unlikely friends, fall in love with no-nonsense FPS hot shot, Jenny Matrix, and face powerful enemies – namely The Law, who vows to destroy Brian for good.

Will Brian’s dreams end before they’ve even started? Or will he pull it together and become the gamer he was born to be?

The first three episodes of Video Game High School have gone online and can be watched for free.

Watch Video Game High School (VGHS) episode 1: “Welcome to the world of Video Game High School”

Watch Video Game High School (VGHS) episode 2: “Brian D gets a little more than he bargained for on his first day…”

Watch Video Game High School (VGHS) episode 3: “Welcome to FPS 101. My name is Ace. You can call me Ace. With Zachary Levi as Ace.”

Check out the series and than come back to talk about it!

We are just about at the official half way mark to the final season of the most entertaining show on TV, Chuck. Last week was an explosive episode that marked the surprise dead of a character and I have a feeling that it will send us hurling to the finale. Big things are happening and I’m happy that I’ve been along for the ride since the first episode.

“Chuck Versus the Curse” Official description: Chuck and Sarah face off against a cutthroat spy (Rebecca Romijn) while on a mission to stop a menacing computer virus. Meanwhile, a perilous case of mistaken identity upends Ellie and Awesome’s date night; and Morgan is tasked with a special assignment. Chuck airs at 8pm on NBC.

Well, it is that time again, time to get together and rally to save what I think is the most enjoyable show on TV, NBC’s Chuck. The gang over at We Give a Chuck have an all new plan underway. Sorta like how fans targeted Subway to save the show in the past, this time the site is trying to get people to message sponsors via Twitter during the show’s commercial breaks to get their attention and let them know that a lot of Chuck fans might not have Nielsen boxes, but they are watching.

Full details:

This Monday night at 8pm EST, Chuck will begin. One of our awesome teammates will be tweeting from the @WeGiveAChuck twitter handle. As each commercial runs she will tweet about that commercial to both the advertiser and NBC.

Example:
@Sponsor just saw your ad on @NBC’s #Chuck. Thx! You support Chuck, I’ll support you PS-I use the Sponsor all the time! #NotANielsenFamily

As these tweets go up, we are asking viewers (that’s you!) to send out tweets of your own, similar to ours, but with a little variation. Throw in your own fun fact for the advertiser. If Toyota runs a commercial and your family has one, let them know! End all tweets with #NotANielsenFamily

Of course I’ll be attempting to go along with this tonight, but it does seem overly complicated.  Do we message every sponsor? Or just the big ones? Different cites have different sponsors, so our messages will be all over the place. I don’t see how we could have the power to get anyone’s attention if we’re not targeting a few select sponsors, rather than whatever happens to be on in the local station by you. Their heart is in the right place for this effort to help save Chuck, but I think we have to do something bigger and more focused to save the show.

Chuckvs Freddy

Chuck has had a non-stop revolving door of pretty cool guest stars this season, including Dolph Lundgren, Linda Hamilton, the Old Spice guy, Lou Ferrigno, Olivia Munn, Eric roberts, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Nicole Richie, but has he finally met his match with Robert Englund, aka Freddy Kruger? In tonight’s all new Halloween themed episode, Englund takes on the role of Dr. Stanley Wheelwright, a (mad) scientist that has created a nightmare-inducing toxin. Can Chuck and the gang stop him from releasing it? Or even worse, selling it to someone even worse who could mass produce it and use it as a weapon?  Linda Hamilton returns tonight as Chuck’s mom and hopefully we will get some information on where she has been and if she is as evil as she appears to be. I’m hoping not. Chuck airs at 8pm on NBC.

chuck new seasonWe have some CHUCKing awesome news today, our favorite geek turned spy series has not only gotten its 4th season extended from 13 episodes to a full season order, but instead of the suspected 9 episodes, the series got picked up for an additional 11 episodes! That makes the 4th season of Chuck 24 episodes total!

The show, which has been on a creative high for the past two seasons, added Linda Hamilton of Terminator fame as Chuck’s long lost mother.  Chuck and the gang have been using all of their resources to locate her, thinking that she has been a prisoner of the season’s new big bad. As we found out yesterday, she may not be a prisoner after all, but might just be the big bad they are looking for.

If you haven’t seen yesterday’s episode yet, stop what you are doing and check it out. (spoiler alert) It ended with a cliffhanger of Chuck getting a call from his mother.  Next week’s episode is Halloween themed and features horror icon and the original Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund as Dr. Stanley Wheelwright, an evil scientist that wants to release a nightmare-inducing toxin on the public.   If you have been busy and missed the past few episodes of the series, you can head over to the show’s 141tv profile to check out the last 4 episodes.
