Next week sees the return of the world of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead in the new weekly series Skybound X. And I’m not even talking about the lead story in the series being “Rick Grimes 2000” (pictured above left), which is a sci-fi based re-imagining of the fan favorite zombie killer (as introduced in TWD #75). What I’m talking about is the first comic appearance of Clementine from Telltale’s The Walking Dead video game. She will be introduced in a stand alone story in Skybound X before spinning off into her own ongoing titled Clementine, that will be written and drawn by Tillie Walden. I’m excited that we can return to the world established in The Walking Dead, and while I love Kirkman, I’m also excited to see someone new playing in his sandbox. What comics or graphic novels did you get in time for Halloween?

Horror legend George A. Romero has passed away. Romero changed the horror genre and crafted the modern zombie movie with 1968’s Night of the Living Dead. His spanning career also included classics horror flicks The Crazies, Dawn of the Dead, Creepshow, and Day of the Dead. 

Official Description of Night of the Living Dead: There is panic throughout the nation as the dead suddenly come back to life. The film follows a group of characters who barricade themselves in an old farmhouse in an attempt to remain safe from these flesh eating monsters.

Okay, so I’m totally back on a horror kick. Expect me to spotlight a lot more free movies like Bread Crumbs, Dragon Wasps, and Jack Frost 2. This past week I stumbled on this 2010 horror comedy flick from Indie Rights, Zombie Beach.

The movie was directed and stars Mukesh Asopa, who also helmed The Taste of Relation and Chamers Gate, the first a mystery drama and the second a crime flick. It co-stars Katherine Stefanski, Kamal Nandi, Kevin Tracy, Rick Cordeiro, Kristi Woods, and Wade Gamble. Zombie Beach has a bit of a throwback 70s vibe to it.

Description: Centuries ago, rather than have a full out war of the revelation, a deal was struck between the heroes of the good and the evil. The beach you visited was sanctioned to the evil. There, the undead could walk like living beings among us. (via IMDB)

We are less than two weeks until the new season of The Walking Dead and I couldn’t be more excited! If like me you are having trouble with the wait, thankfully there are a lot of new goodies to fill the time.

First up, the cast chats about their expectations in the new season in this behind the scenes clip. The video features Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Greg Nicotero (Executive Producer), Denise Huth (Co-Executive Producer), and others.

In addition to new video, we have multiple new galleries of images. The first one is new images from the season 6 along with promo images of the cast. And the second one is a really cool gallery of character portraits. I love the current cast and I’m so happy that they have announced that Jesus will be joining the cast in the new season. From his first appearance, Jesus has been one of my favorite characters in the comic (filling the void left by SPOILER? Tyrese’s death for me). They cast Tom Payne in the role, I haven’t seen his past work, but he sure looks the part!

Z Nation, the action-horror series on the Syfy channel returns tonight with its all new season. The post-apocalyptic show focuses on humanity’s ongoing struggle against zombies infused with all of the action and camp that you’d expect from a Syfy series. The show is the polar opposite from The Walking Dead, and that is not a bad thing. There is plenty of room for all sorts of zombie shows. The new episode is on at 10pm.
